Good news Sony fans, turns out that it's time to start warming up that credit card and ordering your PS3 Move controller. It's starting to show up as being available for pre-order (along with a few other tasty bits). Remember it'll be officially available in the US on September 19th, but you might want to pre-order since Sony kind of has a habit of running out of product when they first come out.

DoubleTwist adds some polish to Android with new media player app
Posted on June 3, 2010 | No CommentsPeruse the Android Market this morrow and you might come across a hot new addition from the folks at DoubleTwist. That's right, the iTunes-aping desktop sync manager has gone native on the Android platform and early feedback on its media player implementation has been positive. The free music and video player app does that whole seamless thing quite well, apparently, interfacing directly with your Windows or Mac computerino and porting over relevant playlists, ratings and media. A widget and other features are coming soon, though you'll likely have to pay for them, given the "free for a limited time" note on the download page. Better get it while the gettin's good.

The official Sony NEX-5 and NEX-3 commercial shows off the dummy proof interface

There's no doubt that the Sony NEX-5 and NEX-3 are hot cameras. They mate interchangeable lens with a very slim body that houses a low-noise 14.2MP sensor. But apparently the user interface has been reworked to be a lot more user friendly. We first got wind of this yesterday when the NEX-3 leaked, but now the official commercial gives us a quick taste of the interface. (0:15 mark) We definitely like what we're seeing. This camera is bound to be the coolest kid in school.

Sprint’s HTC Hero update to Android 2.1 finally coming on May 7?
Posted on May 4, 2010 | No CommentsThis is turning into a serious boy-who-cried-wolf kind of situation, but evidence is growing today that HTC and Sprint are finally -- yes, finally -- ready to drop a hot batch of Sense-laden Android 2.1 on eager Hero owners. A screen shot of a Best Buy employee news page reads that the update was "delayed until this week" and will be "in all stores" by this Friday, May 7; what that means isn't exactly clear, but it could suggest that all Heros being sold in Best Buy Mobile locations will have the update applied by then. As for current customers, Best Buy is sending out instructions on how staff can help owners upgrade if they happen to wander into the store, but otherwise, it should be available from HTC's site (yeah, no over-the-air action here). Stay tuned, folks.

Following hot on the sexy heels of the BlackBerry OS 6.0 leak, comes word of some interesting BlackBerry firsts. The first first (so to speak) is that BlackBerry 6.0 has now been spotted running on a device. The second first (*ahem*) is that said device is also the (almost) first clamshell blackberry device!
It shall be known, affectionately, as the 9670.

Sprint's so-hot-it-burns EVO 4G is coming of age, and has decided to invite its besties out for a little party in New York City on May 12.
Just like it's jealous WinMo-powered older brother, HD2, EVO 4G has decided to go with a movie theme for its party: the peeps are invited to come watch the fun-loving Prince of Persia play in the Sands of Time ahead of the Prince's Memorial Day release.

Jonesing for a bit more info on the hotter-than-hot HTC Incredible before its April 29 release?
Well, you lucky devil, the full spec sheet has been leaked ahead of the Verizon launch, and it looks, well, you know... incredible.
On top of the already-known Android 2.1 with HTC's Sense UI, the Snapdragon processor, the 8MP camera with autofocus + flash, and the 3.7" WVGA (800x480) AMOLED screen, there are a few nice surprises.

What I am excited about, though, is seeing consumers use the items they've bought in the manner of their choosing. Say you've bought a bunch of books from the Amazon Kindle store. (Don't tell Devin!) Those books are only "supposed" to work with the Kindle and the various Kindle readers, but with a bit of work you can read them wherever you want—yes, including on your iPad.

The Nook is soon going to have a bit of competitino on its home playing field when the Samsung E6 reader hits shelves this coming spring. Although it probably doesn't have much to worry about. We spent sometime with the slider at CES and can't see any reason why most consumers would opt for the $399 reader instead of the hot Nook.

A few months back, Directed Electronics launched an iPhone app that, when paired with Viper remote start system, would allow you to start your car from just about anywhere on earth. For the bargain price of just $500, you'd never again have to worry about your car being too hot, too cold, or too not on when you got in. Alas, not everyone has an iPhone - what about the remaining chunk of the world that wants to look like James Bond and/or scare people?
Today, Direct Electronics is letting another big group of people in on the slightly-extraneous fun with the release of Viper SmartStart for BlackBerry.
