It is morning in America: GeoHot tells of untethered jailbreak that could work on iPad
Posted on March 26, 2010 | No CommentsWeb video star GeoHot just did a quick demo of his untethered iPhone/iPod Touch jailbreak. That’s right – you just have to put something on your device – and not directly connect it to your computer – and it will jailbreak that heck out of it in a few minutes. It’s just like the old [...] -
Peek has some “big stuff” in the works even though it’s short on cash
Posted on March 25, 2010 | No Comments
"Big stuff that will blow away folks. Not just an awesome “Peek for Life” promo. But really, truly big stuff. So stay tuned for Project Big Stuff." That's a direct quote from Peek's official blog after stating flat out the company is short on cash even though they make a decent amount of revenue. Of course Peek could probably raise a bit more if absoulity necessary, but we're curious what the company that brought us the email-only, and more recently Twitter-only, device is working on.

Sprint Moment and Hero to get Android 2.1 in “the coming weeks” [Updated!]
Posted on March 19, 2010 | No CommentsSee that image above? It’s notable for two reasons: I’m fairly confident it takes the much coveted title for “Hardest to read leaked document ever”. It, in all of its tiny text, confirms that the Sprint HTC Hero and Samsung Moment will be upgraded to Android 2.1 soon. Update: We’ve now got a more legible picture and a [...] -

Wobble iBoobs jiggles its way out of the Apple app store
Posted on February 18, 2010 | No CommentsIt’s no surprise that Apple’s approval and rejection process for iPhone apps can be completely arbitrary and often asinine. Take Wobble iBoobs, for instance: the application has been on the market for several months and has even earned about $300,000 in sales, but after Apple “recently received numerous complaints” from customers, the app was pulled. Huawei makes the U8100, U8110, U8800 and U8300 with Android official
Posted on February 15, 2010 | No Comments
Looking at the image above, I know what you're thinking, but look on the bright side: you'll be much safer crossing the streets at night with that thing plastered to your ear. Huawei has just announced a number of colorful handsets that don't look like your average Android handsets.

The ATI Radeon 5450: Eyefinity on the cheap (like $50 cheap)
Posted on February 4, 2010 | No CommentsATI just released a new, super entry level graphics card that should placate, well, not hardcore gamers, but most regular people. It's the Radeon 5450. Like other 5000 series cards, it works with Eyefinity, meaning that you can spread the image across several screens, as this image swiped from Tom's Hardware shows.

Is this the first plane on the Moon?
Posted on February 3, 2010 | No CommentsThis image is proof that opening up space travel to private industry will speed up colonization and tourism. Apparently there’s already flights on the moon. That or a plane just so happened to get in the frame of a 500mm telephoto lens. [via reddit] -
Vinyl Android figurines are the coolest things since sliced ice
Posted on February 2, 2010 | No CommentsOkay, look. I wasn’t going to post about these, because every bit of attention these things get will make it that much harder for me to acquire them before they sell out. But then this little nagging voice in my head (which sounds like a freakish cross between CrunchGear editor John Biggs and my mother) [...] -

Wireless magnifier broadcasts tiny text to your gigantic TV
Posted on January 26, 2010 | No Comments
I have bad eyes. A lot of nerds do and I can unforunatly see myself needing something like this before I leave this earth. But I'll be damned if I pay $149.95 for it at Hammacher Schlemmer. I'd rather learn braille.

All the iPhone4/iSlate rumors in one image
Posted on January 18, 2010 | No Comments
Good old Steve just put up a great graphic detailing all of the possible rumors about whatever the heck Apple is releasing whenever it will release it. Rumors include the "glowing Apple logo" as well as a "touch sensitive case." I think the iSlate will also give worms to ex-girlfriends.

Ever wondered what an image would sound like?
Posted on January 15, 2010 | No Comments
We found an interesting little blurb about a software program that converts images into music. Specifically, it "converts the RGB, Red, Green, and Blue, values of every pixel of an image and plays a 3 note harmony based on the RGB values. It reads the pixels from top left to bottom right playing a song a long the way." According to señor willburns1 on his blog (link), "most of the time it seems like set a child loose on a piano but it is sometimes pretty cool."
Here's an interesting item, from artist Sascha Pohflepp. It's called Blinks and Buttons, and it's a "blind camera." Possessing no lens and no viewfinder, the "camera" still takes a picture when you press the big red shutter button.
