Panasonic yesterday announced [JP] what it says is the world's lightest full HD camcorder, the HDC-TM35. Sized at 51.5×107.5×57.5mm and weighing just 185g, the device is mainly targeted at women and will be available in white, purple, grey, and "gold".

Do you remember the CEREVO CAM, the social camera that directly uploads pictures to the web (via Wi-Fi or 3G) from last year? Unfortunately, the shoot-and-upload camera is still available only in Japan (where it went on sale in December last year), but its maker, Tokyo-based startup Cerevo [JP] just announced a quite cool new function: The camera now supports Ustream broadcasting.

There isn't much to say here. We already knew that the Leica V-Lux 20 was going to be a DMC-ZS7 clone with the same 12.1 MP 25-300mm lens arrangement, GPS, and 3-inch LCD. And we were really close on the price, too, stating that it would retail for €549 where in fact it's coming with a €499 MSRP. We already knew everything about the DMC-G1 and DMC-G10. Panasonic announced them back in early March and revealed their 12.1 MP sensors, 3-inch LCD screens, and 720p video modes. But the press release back then didn't mention anything about pricing. Don't you hate that? We do.

Say you're making popcorn but you hate watching the bag expand in the oven as it cooks and you hate it when you have to think you have to touch the bag before it's done. You know what I'm talking about, right? Well now researchers in Japan have added a 10.4-inch LCD to a microwave, creating the CastOven. It plays Internet streams.
Why did they really make this thing? Heck if I know. I guess they really like Internet TV. It runs Adobe Air and is "compatible" with Macs and PCs.

X90: Pentax updates its X70 digital camera

In March last year, Pentax unveiled the X70, a 12MP "hybrid" digital camera with 24x optical zoom that currently sells on Amazon for $380. And today Pentax in Tokyo announced [press release in English] the successor, the X90. As to be expected, the new model has been upgraded in some areas.
