Video Review: The Dyson Air Multiplier
Posted on October 12, 2009 | 1 CommentAnd you thought fans were boring. This new table fan by Dyson features a bladeless design that seems to be a first in the “things that blow stuff industry.” I’m quite impressed. A large ring channels the air through a very thin slit and over a specially designed surface. The result is a jet of cool [...] -
DoubleSight outs three new USB mini-monitors
Posted on September 30, 2009 | No Comments
I'm a fan of USB mini-monitors. They're super handy if you're a photoshop'r or to house Tweetdeck, but they can also get a little expensive and sometimes cost more than full size LCD monitors. But these from DoubleSight are little more on the affordable side. Plus, there is a webcam add-on for the larger model and everyone loves webcams.

HP will have an 11.6-inch netbook
Posted on July 29, 2009 | No Comments
Buckle up. HP is apparently prepping its own 11.6-inch netbook (not pictured above) for release later this year. There's literally no information about it other than ODM giant Quanta will be producing the thing, so I'll not fluff this piece too much with superfluous text.

Samsung debuts the eco-friendly “finger-slim” XL2370 LED HD monitor
Posted on July 6, 2009 | No Comments
Today in Korea, Samsung announced an eco-friendly full HD LED monitor, the XL2370. It’s said to have a “finger-slim” design, but the press release makes no mention of how thick it actually is. But we do know that the XL2370 has a “mega dynamic” contrast ratio of 5M:1, 2ms response time and 1920x1080 resolution. Oh, and it has “Starlight Touch Controls.”

Hands-on with the Toshiba Regza SV670 LED HDTV
Posted on June 10, 2009 | No Comments
Let's start with Toshiba's ad that looks like it came straight out of the early 90s. Pretty boring if you ask me. Aside from that the SV670 is quite stunning. For one thing, the 55-inch model would take up my entire living room and I'd be happy to watch from the next room. I can't say too much about the local dimming and simulated 240Hz because all the Toshiba sets were looping the same video of the Rose Gardens in Portland, OR. The Deep Lagoon design might seem gimmicky, but when you're in the store staring at hundreds of black trimmed TVs on the wall, the Regza is going to catch your eye. I can't give it a proper "hands-on" because it didn't seem to be calibrated correctly because the ZV650 seemed to be properly calibrated and the color on that particular set blew away the SV670. I was thoroughly impressed with Toshiba's lineup that was re-announced today, but I'll reserve final judgment until I've had proper time with each. In the meantime, check out the photos.

Acer Aspire Timeline spotted at an American Wal-Mart
Posted on May 27, 2009 | No Comments
Even though we haven't heard a thing about the Acer Aspire Timeline since it was announced a while ago, that doesn't mean we have forgotten about Acer's latest ultraportable notebook. The $598, 15.4-inch model (5810TZ-4657) was spotted at a Wal-Mart of all places by one of our intrepid readers minutes ago. Didn't know that Walley World stocked the latest and greatest, eh?
