Meizu M9 getting Android 2.1, possible August release?
Posted on May 8, 2010 | No CommentsWell, what do you know -- perhaps there is an M9 in your future (or someone's future) after all! After hearing the one and only Jack Wong detail the thing earlier this year, Beareyes.com is reporting that the device -- with the same 3.6-inch display, 1 GHz (Samsung S5PC110) CPU, HDMI 1.3 out and more -- may be out as early as this August. We think this is certainly do-able, although anything can happen -- as the drawn-out gestation of a certain Meizu M8 made painfully clear. The new news? Rather than KIRFin' up an Apple-esque interface, it looks like Android 2.1 might just be on tap. Sweet, eh? Look for it August 18, for around $350 depending on options... but don't be surprised if you're still looking long past the target date.Meizu M9 getting Android 2.1, possible August release? originally appeared on Engadget on Sat, 08 May 2010 14:02:00 EST. Video: iPhone + Android + Windows Mobile = Beautiful Music
Posted on May 7, 2010 | No Comments
Take one iPhone, one Android handset, and one Windows Mobile handset. Strap'em to a piece of wood, run a bunch of cable to a speaker. Code up a custom instrument jamming interface for each platform. What do you get?
The littlest one-man-band in all the lands.
Something about this video makes me feel kind of dirty. Anyone else?

Review: VC Audio Pro recording / audio editing app
Posted on April 21, 2010 | No CommentsMost recording apps are fairly limited in what you can do with your recording once you’ve made it. VC Audio Pro from VeriCorder is the first multitrack audio editor for the iPlatform and is primarily aimed at journalists making field interviews and whatnot. While the editing and sharing capabilities are pretty powerful, VC Audio Pro [...] -
Meet ISAMARO, Japan’s newest humanoid
Posted on April 16, 2010 | No Comments
Japan must have a solid number of customers willing to pay a ton of money for home-use robots, because otherwise there wouldn't be so many of them actually available for end users like you and me. Take ISAMARO [JP], for example, a new humanoid that hasn't been build for demo purposes, research etc. but for people who actually want to use him.

Review: SugarSync for the iPad
Posted on April 13, 2010 | No Comments
I've been wondering how, exactly, I'll be able to do work on my iPad. With the assistance of programs like Dropbox and SugarSync, it is possible to cobble together a workflow that doesn't drive me crazy.
When I last looked at SugarSync the service was in it's infancy and I found it slightly lacking. All of my concerns, two years ago, have been address and now you have a fully versioned storage system that you can use to feasibly upload a plethora of files including, but not limited to, MP3s, videos, and documents.
Audio and video files, for the most part, played natively on the iPad. However, if you need to transfer odd formats or edit Office or iWork documents (you can view them just fine) you'll need to email the files to yourself and them open them in Pages. This two step process, while upsetting to those afraid of more than one step, is frustrating at worst and a non-issue at best.

The WePad gets a price and launch date (update: Now with a demo of the interface!)
Posted on April 12, 2010 | No Comments
The WePad made headlines a few weeks back when the tablet launched out of seemingly nowhere. It's really the anti-iPad with multitasking, Flash, SD card slot, USB, along with the Android Marketplace, but while maintaining Apple's sleek design. But the pricing and availability wasn't mentioned with the hardware specs. The company just went public with those deets' along with announcing Intel and Adobe as official WePad partners.

Samsung Spinpoint MP4: A 2.5-inch 640GB 7200 RPM drive meant for us
Posted on April 7, 2010 | No Comments
Doesn't it seem like 2.5-inch hard drives have been stuck at 500GB for a while? Well, Samsung is the latest to announce its next-gen hard drive platform and while it doesn't have the same 750GB capacity as WD's latest 5400 RPM drive, we'll take the Sammy's 7200 RPM speed with a little less storage any day.

Whoa there,
