Someone obviously wants the crowd-developed Cable Caps, but I don’t
Posted on January 13, 2010 | No CommentsWait, before you write these things off, hear me out. Cable Caps are actually kind of cool in a quirky sort of way. They are cable organizers that are designed to protect the male ends of USB cables, while also keeping the cables neatly wrapped and organized. Neat, eh? The only thing is that the [...] -
Review: idox Traveler Series iPod touch case
Posted on November 11, 2009 | No Comments
Short Version: As the owner of an iPod touch (2G), I was happy to give this case/stand a spin on my recent trip over to Ireland. Generally speaking, the case provided adequate protection of the touch (albeit leaving the top and bottom slightly exposed), was very handy for watching videos on the plane, and worked great for transforming the touch into a bedside alarm clock. With a MSRP of $34.95, I'd love to see the price come down a touch (zing!), but overall, the idox Traveler Series is a respectable case/stand combo choice.

The “moki” 1st gen iPod shuffle case
Posted on October 20, 2009 | No Comments
Do you think this Spanish designer knows that Apple is a couple of generations past the original iPod shuffle? I had and returned that iPod shuffle model years ago. (for a Harmony remote, btw) No matter, the case is still kind of novel, if not somewhat impractical.

Kickster iPod nano case designed by users
Posted on September 14, 2009 | No Comments
This is a pretty impressive feat of design work by a community of iPod nano users over at Quirky.com. The Kickster is a $14.35 iPod nano case that features a hard shell, cord wrap, and a kickstand that bends outward for use on a tabletop or swings downward to double as a hand grip while using the iPod nano to shoot video footage.

Another iPod Touch case with a hole in it UPDATE
Posted on July 6, 2009 | No Comments
So it looks like this whole "iPod Touch with Camera" thing is coming to fruition. While the first case we saw was a little wonky, this makes more sense. Take a look at the back of your iPod touch - there's a Wi-Fi antenna on the left side so the only place they could stuff a camera would be in the center, next to the antenna. I'm not sure what else is up in that spot, but the camera can't take that much space.
UPDATE - Now there's a freaking Nano case with a hole in it!

iPod Touch 3G case? Nah
Posted on July 3, 2009 | No CommentsReader “Jenny” sent us a link to a silicone case from Asiajunk manufacturer UXSight. It purports to show an iPod Touch 3G - third generation, not third generation wireless - with two holes -one for a camera and one for the antenna. Or maybe the little one is for a little pencil that comes out [...]
Apple is finally getting rid of the ass-ugly Winmo-based handheld checkout systems in its Apple Stores. After all, the devices themselves were always kind of an ironic statement to the vast adaption and usefulness of Window Mobile. But those will soon be gone and the checkout systems will use an iPod touch with a card scanner snapped onto the back. Oh, and yeah, it's a whole lot sexier than the Winmo version and just looks like an iPod touch external battery/case.
