Mac pricing leak? Perhaps updated Macs are inbound.

In case you haven't noticed, the MacBook Pro line is starting to get a little stale with just a lowly Core 2 Duo CPU. Even the Mac Pro with it's Quad-Core Xeon isn't the fastest kid in town anymore with the six-core Core i7-980X making the rounds. Hopefully all this fuss concerning a supposed leak of new Mac pricing that's a bit higher than the current MSRPs foreshadows updates coming in the near future.

WTFJeans feature special iPhone pocket, testicle padding, other weirdness

WTF, indeed. These “WTFJeans” have a special micro fiber-lined iPhone/iPod Touch pocket (good idea), hidden memory stick pocket (okay, I guess), and extra padding on both sides of the crotch area so that, according to the product description, “No matter whether you wear the family jewels on the right like 90 percent of guys, or whether you’re a leftie—extra padding on both sides keeps them cozy.” Again, WTF indeed.

  • Microsoft-made Tag app lands on Android

Microsoft-made Tag app lands on Android

In December 2008, Microsoft surprised a lot of people by releasing an iPhone app — Seadragon Mobile. A month later, they ensured the move wasn't taken as a joke or gimmick by launching another app, Tag, into Apple's App Store. Now, they have a few, including an app for Bing. And starting today, they're doing the same for Android. Tag for Android is the first Microsoft-made app launched on the mobile platform. This is notable, of course, because Android is the mobile platform by Microsoft's chief rival: Google. Still, as we saw with the iPhone, Microsoft has no problems getting its technology out there, even if it means using rival platforms. Aside from Android and iPhone, Tag also currently works on Windows Mobile, J2ME, Blackberry and Symbian S60 phones.

What I did today: Nintendo DS case replacement

Not a big deal but I just wanted to write a bit about replacing parts on your valuable and delicate electronics. Friends, I’m here to tell you that while it’s hard, it’s not impossible to fix things yourself. Our old DS, the one my son uses, fell in an airport a few weeks ago and the [...]

Poles are shocked – shocked! – at Bioshock 2

Oh, Ziema Lubuska, today is your lucky day! Apparently a games blogger for Gazeta Lubulska (Circulation: Maybe fifty grandmas out in Zielona Gora, Poland) just rocked the world with his review of Bioshock 2 saying that the game is a "Shock" and asking if "this is the direction video games are heading?" While his arguments are slow-witted and dull, it's definitely giving a small paper in rural Poland a nice boost in pageviews.

IFPI claims that music piracy is right up there with climate change. At least they’re not being melodramatic about it.

The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry is sorta like a worldwide RIAA, representing record labels, artists, and musicians to make sure their agenda is always out there. That, of course, makes it pure evil. It just published its Digital Music Report 2010, which tries to detail the situation vis-à-vis digital music, piracy, and so on. The big, scary headline: music piracy is right up there with climate change as an issue of monumental, worldwide importance. Sure, OK.

May 28: UFC Undisputed 2 puts you in a triangle joke

We now know when UFC Undisputed 2010 will be on store shelves: May 28. Well, for the UK, that is. I do believe the North American release date is May 25. Beyond that, what's known about the game? Not a damn thing, baby!

    Unassuming cap sports hidden camcorder

Pardon me, miss? I’d just like to tell you that I think your hat is fly. Dope, even. Too bad you’ll never remember my face. Memorize it now and then lose me forever. Unless, of course, you’ve somehow got a camcorder hidden in that thing! That’s unlikely, as your hat is far too stylish to be a technology product.

Hurry up, sports fans, for today's the last day you can submit a message to the KEO space capsule. The idea is to have a bunch of people write an epic message, then in 50,000 years it'll return and give future people the messages. I have no idea how any of this works, so please direct your WTFs somewhere else.

For men on trains: Japanese company sells anti-groping gloves

Groping women in trains (or anywhere, really) isn't only happening in Japan, but this country with its big cities with trains that are full of people (=easy bait for gropers) everyday has a particularly big problem with molesters. It's a crime, and it's reported 2,000 times yearly to police stations in Tokyo alone, prompting a big Japanese railway operator to think about installing security cameras within trains in order to catch gropers just recently.

Apple Bans Another Developer, 1000+ Apps Pulled

As the old mantra goes, “Cheaters never prosper”. In this digital age, it may be time to revise that saying. Granted a veil of anonymity by the Internet, cheaters surely prosper from their cheating; it’s just that when they get caught, they go down hard. Alas, “Cheaters may temporarily prosper – but if they get [...]
