Pre-ordered your iPhone 4 at Radio Shack? Sucks to be you – UPDATE
Posted on June 23, 2010 | No Comments
We're getting reports from some folks who tried to work around the massive fail-up during last week's pre-order fiasco and pre-order from Radio Shack, Best Buy, and Wal-Mart. The reports aren't good.
It seems that most stores will not have them in stock tomorrow and that you should probably check with your pre-order store before you head down. One reader, DW, writes:
Hello, I just wanted to let you guys know that I spoke with the Manager of the RadioShack store that I pre-ordered my iPhone from and he let me know that none of the customers who pre-ordered an iPhone 4 would be getting one from his store tomorrow (Thursday).

Some iPhone 4s Begin Arriving A Full 2 Days Early
Posted on June 22, 2010 | No Comments
As you may have read last night, Apple started emailing people who pre-ordered the iPhone 4 to let them know that it may arrive a day early. While the rest of us have to wait for June 24, those who opted to get the device delivered, should get it as soon as tomorrow, the email says. But actually, if FedEx's tracking system is correct (and that may be a big "if"), some people may actually get the iPhone 4 today.
As you can see in the screenshot, FedEx is alerting some customers that the iPhone 4 is "On FedEx vehicle for delivery." In this particular instance, this is an iPhone that has been sitting in Oakland for a day, so it's not clear why it would be on a FedEx truck unless they were actually delivering it. Others on Twitter are seeing the same thing.

Still Really Want An iPhone 4? Find $5,000, Head To eBay
Posted on June 17, 2010 | No Comments
As you may have heard, Apple completely blew through its pre-order launch day iPhone 4s in less than a day (and that was despite major technical issues with the ordering process). It has now blown through the second wave (due in early July) as well. The current shipping estimate if you order right now is July 14. Ugh. But if you absolutely want one at or around launch day, the Internet, as always, provides an option.
Scanning eBay right now, there are roughly 400 iPhone 4s for sale (between the 16 GB and 32 GB models). Sure, the device isn't out yet, but people are willing to part with the device as soon as they get it on June 24. The question is: how much do you have to pay to get them to part with it? Currently, the cheapest ones are going for $550 -- and that's the $199 16 GB model. The cheapest 32 GB model? $799 -- a full $500 over the $299 retail price.

AT&T sold out of iPhone 4 pre-orders for launch day
Posted on June 15, 2010 | No CommentsBGR's reporting that AT&T's launch day allocation of iPhone 4s is now sold out, and anyone who got in the door after 1:30PM Pacific Time will get their unit some time between June 25 and July 5. Frankly, we have no idea how anyone managed to get a pre-order in, let alone enough to sell out -- but everyone who did deserves a pat on the back and a high-five.
Update: We've gotten the official statement from AT&T, and it's true, though you still might be able to waltz in on launch day without a pre-order and pick up one of the unallocated units:
"Because of the incredible interest in iPhone 4, today was the busiest online sales day in AT&T history. As of Tuesday afternoon, customers who preorder iPhone 4 moving forward will receive their device on June 25 or later, depending on when the order is placed. We'll email customers with confirmation once their order is placed, and again when it ships. In addition, we will have devices available on a first-come, first-serve basis in our stores beginning on June 24."AT&T sold out of iPhone 4 pre-orders for launch day originally appeared on Engadget on Tue, 15 Jun 2010 17:46:00 EST. iPhone 4 confirms June 24 date with O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone in UK
Posted on June 7, 2010 | No CommentsGood news for non-America: O2 UK has become the first international carrier to confirm it'll have the iPhone 4 ready for purchase and adoration on launch day, June 24. After the iPad gave preferential treatment to the US with its release schedule, some might have feared the similarly hot piece of tech Apple just announced today will also suffer from a tiered launch. It's looking like Brits won't have to worry about that particular pain, but it's also curious that Vodafone and Orange -- the other local carriers of the iPhone -- are remaining mum tonight. Is Apple lending a hand to its old partner by allowing it early stock? That wouldn't be entirely unfathomable, though it would be pretty unpleasant for impatient types who fancy some carrier choice.
Update: Never mind that whole conspiracy theory: we've just seen that Orange is also throwing its hat into the June 24 ring -- let's keep this momentum going, guys! [Thanks, Blizzard]
Update 2: And now Tech Radar has heard direct from Vodafone that June 24 is a go, giving us a complete Brit pack.
Update 3: Hey, what do you know? T-Mobile UK's getting it too. Choice is good.Continue reading iPhone 4 confirms June 24 date with O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone in UK
