iPhone 4 gets its first unboxing [Gallery] (Update: More pics!) (Update #2: And video!)
Posted on June 22, 2010 | No Comments
As handfuls of iPhone 4s begin to slip through the cracks and into the grabby hands of hungry phone fans everywhere, the first batches of unboxing pictures are starting to go live as we type this. (You mean these people aren't waiting to open up their phones with the rest of us chumps on Thursday mornings? Jerks! You guys probably peeked at your Christmas presents as a kid, too. [Just kidding, of course -- tear those things apart.])
We're keeping an eye out for galleries as they go up; if you're amongst the many hundreds of thousands waiting on the edge of the seat, join as after the jump for these last minute teases.

Deadline Extended for Compulsory Phone Registration in Mexico
Posted on April 15, 2010 | No Comments
Last week, we reported on the looming deadline facing customers of Mexican telcos, where they were made to register their personal details or else face disconnection. At the time of that post, there were still tens of millions of customers that needed to register.
One week later, the deadline has come and gone, and while 1.49 million mobile phones were registered at the last minute, around 30% of mobile phone users have still failed to do so. Cofetel, the Mexican regulator, has come out and said that rather than disconnecting the unregistered accounts immediately, additional time will be granted to process all the last-minute registrations. Cofetel will continue to register all applications “that enter the system on time and in the correct manner”.

T-Mobile Cliq XT to go on sale tomorrow for $99?
Posted on March 16, 2010 | No Comments
If we were to take everything the rumormill said as gospel, we'd tell you that the Motorola Cliq XT launched in all of its Android glory on March 10th. Given that it's now nearly a week later and the Cliq XT has yet to hit the shelves, we'd say that the rumormill is a dirty, dirty liar. Or, you know, something changed at the last minute.
Either way, now there's a new, improved rumor to bank on! This rumor is stronger. This rumor is faster. Oh, and yeah, this rumor is most likely correct and includes updated pricing information.

Windows Mobile 7 (Windows Phone) User Interface leaks a few hours early
Posted on February 15, 2010 | No Comments
We've gotta give it to Microsoft: considering that they've been working on Windows Mobile 7 for at least a year or two, the fact that they've kept its user interface completely under wraps until a few hours before it's expected to be officially announced is ridiculously impressive.
Alas, a leak was bound to happen at some point, even if it is at the very last minute.

Box vs Box: Snow Leopard Standard vs Snow Leopard Server Edition
Posted on August 24, 2009 | No CommentsApple’s been gettin’ a good bit of grief for the Snow Leopard box art since it officially went on sale this morning. We’re in the “Who cares? We’re all going to buy it anyway” boat, but we’ve gotta admit it: it sort of looks like it was slapped together at the last minute. By a [...] -
iPod Touch 3G case? Nah
Posted on July 3, 2009 | No CommentsReader “Jenny” sent us a link to a silicone case from Asiajunk manufacturer UXSight. It purports to show an iPod Touch 3G - third generation, not third generation wireless - with two holes -one for a camera and one for the antenna. Or maybe the little one is for a little pencil that comes out [...] -
The new AMEX DIGITAL HD Media Player Venice-V38HD, it has a 2TB HDD
Posted on May 29, 2009 | No Comments
Think the world has enough media streamers? Hells no. There is definitely room for the AMEX DIGITAL Venic-V38HD with it's 2TB storage. The trapezoidal media player does about everything. It streams all major file formats off a local network (including AVI's, Moxi), plays media files off USB drives, has a DVD/CD player - that's about it. The only thing missing is a Blu-ray drive really.
Looking to make sure they're not entirely overshadowed by Google's much hyped Nexus One announcement later today, Rogers Canada has squeaked out a last minute Android-related press release -- fortunately for them, it's a handset we're still pretty excited about.
