LifeBook MH380: Fujitsu’s new netbook with Pine Trail processor

Intel's Pine Trail Atom processor (1.66 GHz Atom N450/unveiled earlier this year) is one of the key elements in the LifeBook MH380, Fujitsu's latest netbook. The MH380 has a 10.1-inch glossy LCD screen with LED backlight, 200nits brightness and no less than 1,366x768 resolution. What's quite unique design-wise is the tiny circle area (next to the trackpad), which enables circular motion scrolling.

Logitech goes downmarket with the $150 Harmony 700

Now that the Harmony 900 has effectively taken the top tier away from the older Harmony One, Logitech needed a suitable remote for the bottom tier. That's where the $150 Harmony 700 comes in. From the presser, it seems that this new remote might simply be a slightly stripped down Harmony One. The look isn't that clean, the LCD screen is smaller, and the charging system a little janky with AAs, but it's still got what makes a Harmony special: dead simple macro setup thanks to great PC software.

Victor JVC Japan announced [JP] a new full HD camcorder from their Everio series today, the Everio GZ-HM400. The device features a 10.3MP CMOS sensor, 10x optical zoom, 32GB of built-in storage, a 2.8-inch flip-out LCD screen, a YouTube and iTunes upload function, a USB port and an HDMI interface.

“Bowlingual”: Portable dog language translator (video)

Japanese toymaker Takara Tomy claims it has developed a device that can translate what a dog "says" into human language and emoticons in real time. And the so-called "Bowlingual" [JP ] isn't being marketed as a (pure) gag product.
Jointly developed with an acoustics research laboratory and a veterinarian, the Bowlingual works wirelessly (your dog must wear a wireless mic around the neck). Let the device catch noises made by your dog (transmission range: 10m) and it will analyze the "animal language" with a special algorithm before telling you on the LCD screen what was being "said".
