Qik two-way video calling on the Sprint EVO 4G is free, premium service is not
Posted on May 29, 2010 | No CommentsQik has lived up to its name in clarifying some leaks indicating that future EVO 4G owners on Sprint will be charged $5 a month to make use of its video chat services. As it turns out, that subscription fee will be for a new range of "advanced premium features," which will be elucidated on June 4 alongside the EVO's retail launch. The core two-way video calling will come absolutely free, we're promised, and only those yearning for extra features will have to pay up. It seems clear from the wording of that statement that multi-party conversations will figure prominently in the premium set, though we're left guessing at what other ways Qik has for seducing us to part with our cash. Either way, good news if you wanted to keep things simple... and cheap.

Motorola releasing two new Droids, “leaks” notwithstanding
Posted on May 28, 2010 | No CommentsAccording to the WSJ, Motorola president Sanjay Jha said that “We will introduce new Droid products in the Verizon franchise.” This probably means something like the Droid Shadow that “appeared” in a toilet recently. We can also expect about a dozen new phones from Motorola this year, although not all of them will run Android. via Giz -
Nokia N8 on its way to Vodafone UK
Posted on May 27, 2010 | No Comments
Vodafone UK now have the Nokia N8 on their "Coming Soon" page, so it seems a pretty safe bet that Nokia's new top-end Symbian ^3 powered handset will indeed be "Coming Soon" to Vodafone UK.
You can probably also safely bet that the phone is "Coming Soon" to other carriers, too... but I don't have a handy reference page for any other operators. Sorry.

Samsung LiMo-powered i8330 leaks, to be called Vodafone H2
Posted on May 26, 2010 | No Comments
Another day, another leak, right? Next up we have the Samsung LiMo-R3-powered i8330. The device will form part of the Vodafone 360 lineup in Europe, and will be known as the H2.
The specs so far seem decent, with a 1GHz Cortex A8 processor, an 800x480 Super AMOLED screen, 8MP autofocus + flash camera with HD video recording, and the usual GPS, and WiFi, as well as a touch of HSDPA.

Spankin’ new shot of the Motorola Shadow emerges, along with contradictory specs
Posted on May 26, 2010 | No Comments
It seems like only hours ago that a leaked shot of the yet-to-be-announced Motorola Shadow emerged, yet here we are with another shot of the possible successor to the Droid.
This time around there is no wacky story accompanying the leak, but this is the first shot of the device that hasn't been directly front-facing (you can clearly see the HDMI connector on the side there), so at least that's interesting.

Samsung i8920 Omnia HD2 leaking its way across the net as we speak
Posted on May 20, 2010 | No Comments
Samsung's successor to the Symbian-powered i8910 (aka OmniaHD) has just bust its pipes, and is now leaking all over the internet (too soon?).
The leaks thus far point to a 4" Super AMOLED screen, a 12MP camera with both Xenon and LED flash (why not?), 30fps 720p video recording (just like its older sibling), and 16 or 32 GB internal storage, all running atop Symbian^3.
Oh, and it also includes the soon-to-be-standard-on-high-end-phones WiFi b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0.

The PSP 2 will be ‘[expletive] powerful’
Posted on May 17, 2010 | No CommentsThere will be a PSP 2. No, not some sort of halfway sequel, à la the PSP Go, but an actual, holy smokes PSP 2. That's the rumor, and you'd have to assume that's the case. But the specifics of the rumor, today's incarnation of the rumor, that is, is that the device will be "[expletive] powerful." That's pretty powerful!

Spoiler Alert: Another iPhone 4G/HD appears
Posted on May 17, 2010 | No CommentsAt this point in the game I’m pretty much bored with the whole iPhone HD leak meme. In a twisted way, the run up to Apple launches was a lot of fun. There was endless speculation but no real data and all of a sudden a guy in a turtleneck and jeans pops out and, [...] -
Android 2.1 upgrade for Sprint’s HTC Hero leaks out
Posted on May 14, 2010 | No CommentsOkay, so the Moment's Android 2.1 upgrade is official -- great. But what about the Sense-powered Hero? There's no firsthand word just yet other than the promise of a Q2 release, but there is a firsthand ROM (seemingly) floating around that gives us hope we'll here something from Hesse and crew any day now. Oh, yeah, and there is the cool part about being able to just grab the binary now and get your upgrade on without waiting, if you're as brave and impatient as we tend to be around here. Let us know how it goes, folks.

Yet another round of iPhone 4G pics appear
Posted on May 13, 2010 | No Comments
Apple! You're leaking! Yet more photos of your upcoming iPhone have hit the Internet after the first two leaks. What's great is that they don't show anything new, which makes us wonder how the upcoming keynote is going to play out. Maybe you could just have an open bar and pre-screen Toy Story 3. That would be fun.

Another iPhone 4G prototype shows up, bares all including Apple’s own A4 chip
Posted on May 12, 2010 | No Comments
This is just silly now. Another iPhone has leaked onto the Internet. What kind of ship does Steve Jobs run over there at Apple? This time around they aren't going to be able to bust down the owner/seller/stealer's door seeing as it all went down in Vietnam. Then again, anything is possible with the Apple gestapo.
But somehow a Vietnamese website got a hold of the device. The back story really doesn't matter right now. They got and posted pics and video -- good for them. The site went a bit farther than Gizmodo, though. They actually tore it apart, revealing a nice little surprise.

Once the leaks start, they just don't stop. After the first (and massive) leaks regarding the

Ok, we're all used to the blurry, shaky spy shots that usually accompany phone leaks, but these photos take ugly to a new level. I mean really, what setting on what camera could mangle a photo so thoroughly?
But enough of that, you aren't here to listen to me rabbit on about photo quality. You want to know about the phone, don't you?
So, if peer deep enough through the fog of filth, you can see what looks to be a BlackBerry slider. If you peer even deeper, you may notice that it seems to be running
