AT&T scheduling Palm Pixi Plus, Vu Plus, and others for early June launch?
Posted on May 11, 2010 | No Comments
So we know the Pre Plus is hitting AT&T this coming Sunday -- but what about its little brother? We're hearing that AT&T has lined up the Pixi Plus for a June 6 launch for $49.99 on contract after rebate, $100 less than it'll be charging for the Pre Plus -- in other words, you'll be able to get a Verizon Pre Plus or an AT&T Pixi Plus for the same price, and the latter won't include free mobile hotspot service. Voodoo math aside, we've got a few more goodies in here for you: the aging LG Vu will apparently be replaced on June 6 with a Vu Plus model for $149.99 on contract with rebate, Samsung will re-up the rugged Rugby with the Rugby II for $129.99, and Pantech's Pursuit swings in for $49.99. It all makes for an exciting June, does it not?

Samsung unveils Android-equipped Galaxy Spica i5700
Posted on November 15, 2009 | No CommentsFiled under: Handsets, Samsung, GSM, EDGE, HSDPA, UMTS, Android
The long-rumored little brother to the Galaxy, the i5700, has finally been made official by Samsung -- and sure enough, it'll go by the trade name "Galaxy Spica." Sammy's latest Android-powered set clocks in at 13.2mm thick and comes equipped with a 3.5mm jack (which, frankly, every smartphone in the world should be including at this point), an 800MHz core (presumably the same as the Moment's), and an Android first: built-in DivX support. This one appears to be a no-frills Google Experience device considering the number of times that "Google" is mentioned in Samsung's press release, but for some Android connoisseurs, the purest, unskinned look and feel is preferred. Sammy says it's already out in Europe and the CIS and will be coming to the Middle East and Asia shortly.Samsung unveils Android-equipped Galaxy Spica i5700 originally appeared on Engadget Mobile on Sun, 15 Nov 2009 22:56:00 EST. Baby and Me for Wii to feature doll controller accessory
Posted on November 2, 2009 | No Comments
Shocked? Not me. The constant one-upsmanship inherent in the weirder-than-weird world of Wii accessories and software will never, ever, ever end. Take this new entrant, due out in Australia next month. It’s called Baby and Me and features, you guessed it, an actual doll with a snap-in port for a Wii controller.

Walmart is now selling the Palm Pre for only $79
Posted on September 27, 2009 | No CommentsSo ya think that the Pre is still overpriced at $100 from Amazon, eh? Well, if you’re willing to buy the Pre at Walmart and deal with mail-in rebates, you can snag one for only $79.99. This deal is of course for new subscribers that sign a 2-year agreement, but the end price is the cheapest [...] -
The Viliv X70 is finally available and shipping from Dynamism
Posted on August 21, 2009 | No Comments
I loved the Viliv X70. It's a great UMPC and it's finally available for public consumption from Dynamism. The pre-orders took a little longer to ship than expected, but now that those are done, the X70 is available for everyone. Better yet, you can expect it to ship out the same day you place your order. Now, the smaller, but still hot, S5 is a different story.

Review: Viliv X70 UMPC
Posted on July 6, 2009 | No CommentsThe Viliv X70 isn’t the first UMPC, nor is it the most feature-filled. It’s isn’t the most expensive or cheapest. But I’m willing to bet that it’s one of the most important devices in its class. The X70, and it’s little brother the S5, offer a lot of mobile goodness for a relatively low [...] -
Classic, Retro HP Calculators Now on iPhone
Posted on June 30, 2009 | No CommentsWhat you see above is not a calculator. Or rather, it’s not the calculator you think it is. Rather, it is the latest software-only implementation of the classic Hewlett Packard scientific calculator, the 15C. It gets better. This emulator runs on the iPhone, and is joined there by its little brother, the 12C (a financial calculator). [...] -
Viliv S5 3G gets US price
Posted on June 16, 2009 | No Comments
We are loving the Viliv X70 with it's built-in 3G modem, but it's little brother - the S5 - wants some love too. The 5-inch UMPC will soon be available from Dynamism with 3G and more SSD options. These extras do come at a higher price though.
