The HD JVC Everio GZ-HM550 lets smartphones control functions via Bluetooth

The JVC GZ-HM550 brings a new set of standards to the table. It isn't the 1920 x 1080 recording or 9 MP stills. Nor is it the 32GB internal flash memory with an SD/SDHC card slot playing backup or even the Konica Minolta HD lens. Nope, it's the novel Bluetooth function that might make a full size camcorder relevant again in a smartphone world.

Hands on with the Pixi Plus and Pre Plus

We just did some live video from the Palm lounge where we saw the Pixi and Pre Plus, two improvements to the current WebOS line-up. Notable points? Qik For Android Alpha leaks, Immediately Hits The Market

Uh-oh. Looks like the race for live video streaming on Android is on. When we got footage of Kyte running on Android last week after hearing next to nothing on the matter from the competitors, we guessed that it might be the first mobile streaming app to go live on the platform. Turns out, Qik has had something up their sleeve - and it just slipped right out. We're not quite clear on all of the details yet, but an early Alpha version of Qik's Android application has become available.
