Rumor: Landor Associates working on upcoming iPhone campaign for Verizon
Posted on May 11, 2010 | No Comments
The rumor mill is churning about a company called Landor Associates "working on an advertising campaign" for Verizon for the upcoming iPhone (you know, the one that the police knocked down Jason Chen's door down to get generally more information about?). Ladnor has been working on Verizon branding since 2007 and is, according to a tipster, now hard at work preparing for the iPhone HD launch. The Verizon team there is led by Brad Scott.

LG / Cyon SU630 caught in the wilds of South Korea
Posted on November 26, 2009 | No Comments
Were you shocked and surprised when LG put out a Christmas Edition of its Korea-only LG-SU630? Neither were we -- but we are mighty amused that a certain reader named James Roberson was cool enough to take us up on our (joking) plea for pictures of the handset when he came across one at the electronics market in Seoul recently. This isn't the Christmas edition, but it's all LG-SU630 -- as indicated by the Cyon logo and 8 megapixel camera 'round back. Get a closer look in the gallery below. And for our next request, do you think you could send us a Sciphone Dream G2? We hear they're pretty amazing. kkthanksbye.

T-Mobile to myFaves: ‘Good day, sir; I said good day’
Posted on November 9, 2009 | No CommentsFiled under: T-Mobile
T-Mobile is now offering unlimited voice for little enough cash through its Even More promo these days that it's officially bidding myFaves adieu, spelling out the final chapter of one of the better-known plan packages in the US wireless biz. It won't go away completely -- the myFaves app will apparently continue to be offered as a convenient, cutesy way to access five frequent contacts and existing subscribers won't be kicked off their plans -- but for new subscribers, Even More is being billed as the spiritual successor. For the record, unlimited voice through Even More Plus starts at $49.99, so the price is definitely right -- but more importantly will this end up meaning that we lose the beloved silkscreened myFaves logo on the back of virtually every T-Mobile handset sold today?T-Mobile to myFaves: 'Good day, sir; I said good day' originally appeared on Engadget Mobile on Mon, 09 Nov 2009 21:39:00 EST. And now Miles Davis has himself a pair of Monster Cable headphones
Posted on October 21, 2009 | No CommentsYup, Miles Davis is about as far away from Lady Gaga as you can get. Monster Cable has yet another pair of headphones that are emblazoned with a famous musician's name. And if you were here two sentences ago, you might have guessed that that artist is Miles Davis. You're a good guesser!

RIM goes pale, shows white Curve 8520 for T-Mobile and Bold for AT&T
Posted on October 8, 2009 | No CommentsFiled under: Handsets, RIM, ATT, T-Mobile, GSM, EDGE, HSDPA, UMTS
We know it's after Labor Day, but that doesn't seem to be stopping RIM from rolling out a couple BlackBerrys in bright white this season -- and who are we to accuse Waterloo of a fashion faux-pas? First up, the Curve 8520 on T-Mobile is now available, complementing the black and "frost" versions that have already landed; perhaps more interesting, though, is direct confirmation from RIM that there'll be a white version Bold hitting AT&T in mid-October. With the Bold 2 seemingly around the corner, recoloring the current model seems like an odd move -- but if they can continue to sell the Bold at a moderate discount a la iPhone 3G / 3GS, there might yet be a strategy there. The version RIM had on hand wasn't AT&T-branded, but... you know, just imagine the silkscreened logo and customized wallpaper, and you'll get the idea.

You’ve been adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing all day long. The sweat gathers in the arm pit region of your short-sleeve button-down work shirt. Your pocket protector feels like it weighs a thousand pounds. Only 15 minutes to go and you can hop in your Subaru, drive home, and take a nice, long shower. If only there was a shower curtain to reflect your status as one of the world’s most elite mathletes.
There’s a certain type of man that wears cufflinks. Don Draper, for example, wears cufflinks. But he’s also a fictional character set in the 1960s. In the real world, these days, it’s usually the well-off that wear them. Basically, you need to have enough money to not care about spending hundreds of dollars on buttons.
But CuffLinks.com appears to be going for a new crowd with its latest design. The “Facebook Me” cufflinks are $50 and feature yes, the Facebook logo on them. They are approximately 3/4″ by 3/4″, are “Rhodium plated” and feature a “Bullet back closure.” One cufflink features the Facebook “f,” the other reads “me.” Classy.
