Posted on April 12, 2010 | No Comments
Sony, Panasonic, NEC and now Sharp: All of these Japanese tech powerhouses are playing the 3D game now, but what about Hitachi? The biggest (sales-wise) of them all has been working on a glasses-free 3D projection system and sells a 3D cell phone in Japan (pictured), but Hitachi has been relatively quiet in terms of 3D.
Today, however, Hitachi Displays announced [JP] the development of a new 3.1-inch 3D LCD, which is - you guessed it - specifically designed for mobile devices.

PS3 goes portable (kind of) with Hori’s LCD screen dock
Posted on April 6, 2010 | No Comments
This is something gadget modder Ben Heck might have thought about, but if yes, Japanese game peripheral maker HORI (which also sells stuff in the US) was faster this time. The company today announced [JP] a portable LCD screen, which, once attached to the top of a PS3 Slim, makes the console (somewhat) portable.

For the Nintendo 3DS? Sharp’s unveils glasses-free 3D touchscreen [Update: Video]
Posted on April 2, 2010 | No Comments
Glasses-free 3D displays for mobile devices are nothing new. Hitachi, for example, started selling a 3D-enabled handset [JP] in Japan as early as last year. The Hitachi product didn't make much of a splash, but Sharp's new parallax barrier-based 3D display for mobile devices (which the company announced today) appears to be pretty cool.

Lexar announces new line of “Gamer” SDHC cards
Posted on November 19, 2009 | No Comments
Lexar announced their new "gaming" memory cards today. I"m curious what exactly makes these cards specifically for gamers? Do they drink Mountain Dew? Do they call other memory cards 'Bro' while giving them dead leg?
Other then labeling, I'm not sure what else makes these gamer level memory cards special.

Maybe you need a 19-inch HDTV for your den, office, or rumpus room. I don't know. If price is a concern, though, then please feel free to reference this $150 TV from Philips being sold on Woot.com today (and today only).
