Dell Streak gets cozy with Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, suddenly looks small (video)
Posted on June 21, 2010 | No Commentsdigg_url = 'http://digg.com/gadgets/Dell_Streak_Bluetooth_keyboard_mini_mobile_workstation'; Look what we have here? The Dell Streak sure keeps bringing us more and more surprises -- unlike most Android devices that lack the Bluetooth HID profile, here it is paired up with our wireless keyboard and mouse (Apple's Wireless Keyboard and Magic Mouse, specifically) without any driver hacks. Streak Smart, who made this discovery, had the same experience as us with its iGo Stowaway keyboard and an unknown mouse -- typing was as smooth as cutting butter with a hot knife, but the mouse couldn't do much due to the lack of pointer and scrolling support. If you insist, the forthcoming Nokia N8 is confirmed to support both devices natively, but it shouldn't be long before we see a mouse hack for the green bot. Hands-on video after the break, and do also head over to the source link if you need more convincing.Dell Streak gets cozy with Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, suddenly looks small (video) originally appeared on Engadget on Mon, 21 Jun 2010 20:38:00 EST. Video: iPhone hacked to support the Magic Mouse
Posted on January 4, 2010 | No Comments
Those gifted gents over at the BTStack might just be too clever for their own good. First they blow our minds by sneaking Wiimote support onto the iPhone, and then tickle our productivity-loving souls by hacking in Bluetooth keyboard support. It's a bit awkward to be typing away on a keyboard then have to reach over and poke the screen whenever you want to do something - wouldn't it be nice to be able to use a mouse instead?
Yes, yes it would. And the BTStack guys agree.

iPhone and Magic Mouse linked up by BTstack (video)
Posted on January 4, 2010 | No CommentsEven though you probably still can't figure out what good the ability to connect your Bluetooth keyboard to your iPhone will do, the BTstack project is steaming ahead with this demo of a connected Magic Mouse twirling its pointer all over Apple's handset. The driver code is still unreleased, but we get to see some nice lag-free interaction between the two devices, suggesting it shouldn't be too far away from public consumption. As if to answer your earlier quandary, the video also features a Celluon CL800BT virtual keyboard, which projects onto and responds to your touch of any flat surface. A gimmick most likely, but a fun journey into the dream of nomadic computing nonetheless. Check out all the action after the break.

Review: Magic Mouse
Posted on November 2, 2009 | No CommentsShort version: The Magic Mouse is everything that anti-Macists hate about Apple: It’s twee, too smart for its own good, and initially unusable to the uninitiated. Sadly, even Mac fanbois will feel the same way. Not so Magic I gave the Magic Mouse a fair shake. Heck, I even gave the Mighty Mouse a fair shake. And, [...] -

Posted on October 22, 2009 | No CommentsiFixit has torn up the new iMac to reveal the delicate inner workings of both the machine and its attendant Magic Mouse. Obviously the biggest issue here is removing the massive piece of glass on the front, a process that requires a spunger, suction cups, and a sense that life is futile and electronics [...] -
