    T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide coming June 2nd for $179.99

The sky darkened and the sun fell black; according to this second rumor, the myTouch Slide would be reaching stores not on June 2nd, but [...]

Reebok’s ZigTech likened to ‘an energy drink for your feet’

Oh-kaaay. So Reebok has developed something called ZigTech – basically a zig-zag type foam for running shoes that’s supposed to ease the load on your leg muscles. And one of the first snippets from the press release is, “ZigTech allows your key leg muscles to do less, so you can do more. Simply put, it’s like an energy drink for your feet.”

Acriche unveils first 100 lm/W AC LED light

I like the idea of LED lights, as I'm sure you do, too. Like you, I dislike the inefficiencies of incandescent bulbs, although I like the bright, warm light they produce. Like you, I like the power efficiency of CFL bulbs, although I dislike all that nasty mercury inside them. LED lights look like a big win, except, of course, for the fact that the light is either too diffuse to be useful, or too focused to make a general purpose bulb. Acriche, a division of Seoul Semiconductor, may be changing the game with their announcement of a 100 lm/W LED bulb. Full press release inside!

Reminder: Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus now available from Verizon

Hey! Guess what? The Palm Pixi Plus and Pre Plus are now available for Verizon! You sure as hell wouldn’t know that from looking at Verizon Wireless’ front page today, where there’s no mention of either handset in sight. This “Eh, whatever” launch approach is the same one Verizon took with the BlackBerry Storm [...]

Let’s feign surprise: Modern Warfare 2 was the most pirated game of 2009

<img src="http://www.crunchgear.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/umabanana.jpg"Spore was the most pirated game of 2008, but that needs to be viewed through the lens of EA wrapping the legitimate, retail copy of the game with all sorts of DRM nonsense that made it unplayable under certain situations. You know, like putting the disc in your drive and expecting it to work. It was easier to pirate it than play the copy you bought at the store. Insane, yes. Modern Warfare 2 was the most pirated game of 2009, also known as "this year," primarily because it was backed by a zillion dollar marketing campaign. That, and people like shooting at each other, virtually.

Windows Marketplace now available for Windows Mobile 6.0 and 6.1

Long before Windows Marketplace launched on Windows Mobile 6.5 as Microsoft's answer to the App-Store-Craze, we knew it would be extended down into Windows Mobile 6.0 and 6.1 - the only question was "When?. The answer, it seems, is today. Microsoft has just announced that the Marketplace is available to 6.0 and 6.1 users beginning immediately.

Palm Pixi Review: Not for everyone, but it fits a niche

Palm and Sprint have taken a very different approach to the launch of the Pixi than they did with its slightly older and slightly brawnier brother, the Palm Pre. In the days leading up to the Pre, both parties were on full attack mode; keynotes were held, massive tradeshow booths were built, full page newspaper [...]

Activision calls DJ Hero but a ‘first step’ in expanding the music game genre beyond rock

Here's comes another DJ Hero story. Activision called the game's launch “successful” at a conference call yesterday, saying that the game represents a “first step toward diversifying beyond rock” and into other genres, like hip hop and electronic music. In other words, the game's soft sales aren't necessarily a cause for alarm (if you were ever concerned in the first place).

Too expensive? DJ Hero sales ‘modest’

While there's no hard numbers, an analyst over at Capital Markets has called the sales of DJ Hero “modest.” Usually you want phrases like “brisk pace” and “exceeding expectations” when you release big ticket games like DJ Hero, but it doesn't seem to be happening here.

Smartphone Showdown: iPhone 3GS vs Motorola Droid

sidebysidea If hype were to be believed, the Motorola DROID is the pièce de résistance of the mobile world; the conclusive creation sent down by the Great Smartphone in the sky to rid us of our woes. It would prepare your breakfast promptly each morning, tuck you in at night, and, maybe -- just maybe -- knock the iPhone down a notch or two. Beginning about a week before its launch (largely due to Verizon's incredibly intense marketing campaign) I began getting calls and tweets from friends and colleagues asking about the Droid. They always had two questions: the first would be something like "What do you think of the Droid?", followed by "Would you recommend it over the iPhone?" Same questions, each.. and.. every.. time. I've been using the Droid as my primary phone for a few days now, and I think I'm finally ready to answer them.
