Must see video: Nicholas Deleon playing Kinect’s Dance Central
Posted on June 17, 2010 | No Comments
This might be the best video you'll see of E3 2010. It doesn't get much better than Nicholas dancing. Trust me.

Amazing Twitter World Cup mash-up needs to be seen right now
Posted on June 11, 2010 | No CommentsWhew! Day One of the World Cup is now behind us, and I wanted to take a moment to point y'all in a particularly awesome direction. The Guardian, one of my recommend sites from yesterday's catch-all post, has a truly amazing Twitter mash-up that needs to be seen to be believed. What it does is analyze tweets that occur during a game, then it creates a dynamic chart that corresponds to said tweets.

The Age of the Mobile Mash-Up
Posted on May 29, 2010 | No CommentsBy Lars Erik Holmquist of the Mobile Life Centre, Kista, Sweden The rate of innovation in mobile services is just about to take a quantum leap. We are going from a divergent and messy ecosystem, where every new concept has to be made into a specialized ”app” that works only on a small sub-set of mobile [...] -
Medea presents the programmable vodka bottle
Posted on April 12, 2010 | No Comments
What can you add to a bottle of distilled wheat mash besides sweet oblivion? How about a scrolling blue LED display that shows six programmable messages including, potentially, "Let's get crunk!" and "Girls, talk to me! I'm rich and very, very hairy!"
The booze costs $40 plus your dignity. Video after the jump.

Sold out! Panasonic’s 3D TVs simply cannot be found in stores!
Posted on March 17, 2010 | No CommentsWell, well! Every single Panasonic 3D TV has been sold, meaning, I guess, that 3D TV is a hit, despite what some people think. They're on back order now, so if you weren't among the first to plop down nearly $3,000 for a 50-inch set you get a late slip. You're late to the party. Last week called, and it wants to know why you didn't buy a TV?

The Zixen Diver: Huh.
Posted on March 17, 2010 | No Comments
I had never heard of Zixen before today [Warning: Loud crazy Flash animation ahead] but they're doing some wonderful divers with a amazing vintage look. I like this $2400 chrono with an ETA 2894 caliber and square case.

The Beat Thang Music Production System.
Posted on December 15, 2009 | No Comments
Remember when using z's on the end of plural words instead of s's was edgy and revolutionary? Well, apparently no one told Beat Kangz Electronics that that time has passed. Misguided syntax choices aside, Beat Kangz has just announced the release of their new Beat Thang music production system. Not only does it look like something the Covenant would use, it comes in either software form or with its own dedicated hardware.

ST-Ericsson’s U8500 platform gives your next smartphone wicked 3D powers
Posted on November 4, 2009 | No CommentsFiled under: Games, Multimedia
It's one thing for ARM to develop a potent GPU meant to add impressive 3D capabilities to devices that were previously forced to run the likes of "Snake," but it's another thing entirely to see a platform and semiconductor company come forward and take it one step closer to the mainstream. ST-Ericsson has done just that with its U8500 platform, which is the first to integrate ARM's Mali-400 graphics processing unit into a solution that can be easily fitted into future phones. Think your iPhone 3GS GPU is mighty enough? Hop on past the break and mash play -- it'll make those fancy water reflections you're currently drooling over look downright ugly.

HTC HD2 fulfills its unboxing obligations on video
Posted on October 27, 2009 | No CommentsFiled under: Handsets, HTC, Windows Mobile
You've already seen the HD2 that HTC would have you see, but now it's time to take the obligatory journey to the world of unboxings. Seen here in "not-yet-final" packaging, the WinMo 6.5-packin' handset looks sexier than ever, even in that still-to-be-tweaked green box. Hop on past the break and mash play if you're looking to get all sorts of jealous this morning.Continue reading HTC HD2 fulfills its unboxing obligations on video

Nokia N900 can ride the Google Wave
Posted on October 14, 2009 | No CommentsWe're not talking about some mobile version here à la iPhone, no sir. MobileDeveloperTV has itself a Maemo-powered Nokia N900, and sure enough, it runs the full version of Google Wave. There looks to be some lag between the keyboard and text box, but if you're hankering to mash up Espoo's latest and greatest with the G man's latest and greatest, there's nothing standing in your way. See for yourself, victorious laughs and all, in the video after the break.

Review: BlackBerry Tour 9630 (Verizon)
Posted on July 22, 2009 | No Comments
Short Version: As it stands, the BlackBerry Tour 9630 is the best smartphone available for Verizon Wireless customers. It’s a mash-up of the AT&T BlackBerry Bold and T-Mobile BlackBerry Curve 8900. One would think that this would lead to the perfect BlackBerry, but it has one glaring flaw and it isn’t one that you can get over quickly, if ever.
