While sitting in my dentist's chair recently, I marveled at just how scary looking many of the implements on his tray were. And don't get me started on that contraption I put my face into at the optometrists! It's hard to believe that these implements of modern medicine will some day appear as quaint -- and arguably as effective -- as instruments of yore, like the "artificial leech" pictured here.

Sanyo Japan to launch two high-resolution / high-brightness projectors

Sanyo seems to now entirely focus on projectors targeted at professional customers and businesses. After announcing a $6,000 Wi-fi enabled projector last month, the company today said in Japan [JP] it's about to roll out two additional models with some great specs.

RFID technology seems to be on the rise lately. After Mitsubishi announced a super-efficient tag reader last month and NEC said it was able to dramatically cut production costs for RFID two weeks ago, it's now Hitachi's turn: The company has announced today that it has developed the world's smallest RFID chip.
