Panasonic in Japan has announced [JP] a new stereo system today, the D-Dock SC-HC40. The device is just 69mm thick at the thinnest part but integrates a speaker plus digital amplifier (20W×2ch(6Ω)), a CD player, an AM/FM tuner, an SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card slot, and a "sliding door" (Panasonic).

Soon after, the company started rolling out a few Blu-ray devices here and there, but today Toshiba Japan announced [JP] a flood of new Blu-ray-powered devices. Spec-wise, this 8MP point-and-shoot camera isn't anything special, but that's what you'd expect from a camera whose case shows Mickey Mouse giving Minnie a bucket of hearts.

Panasonic Japan announced a total of three new Blu-ray-based set-top boxes today [JP], the first devices in the industry featuring a digital CATV tuner. All of the models (TZ-BDW900M/pictured, TZ-BDW900F and TZ-BDW900P) have a 500GB HDD on board, too.

Casio announces two new Exilim cameras

Casio Japan unveiled [JP] two new Exilim point-and-shoot cameras today, the EX-Z450 and the EX-Z90. The main selling point of the devices is the ability to detect objects (not only human beings) and to then automatically set the focus and exposure area to give you high-quality pictures.
The EX-Z90 can be considered weaker than the Z450. It features a 12.1MP sensor, a 2.7-inch LCD screen, 3x optical zoom, an ISO range of 64 to 1,600, an SDHC/SD memory card slot and 35.7MB of internal memory. The camera weighs 102g and will be available in gold, silver, pink, blue and black (release date in Japan: September 11, price: $210).
