On their Facebook page today, US Cellular today teased an "around July" release for the HTC Desire (previously known as the Bravo).
The device, in case you didn't know, is basically a Nexus One in Sheep's (or HTC's) Clothing (which includes Sense UI), but with a few differences.

Posted on April 14, 2010 | No CommentsYet another scandal coming out of China relating to its factories. Last time it was Apple that got in trouble, now it's Microsoft. An undercover investigation, carried out by the National Labor Committee over a period of three years, discovered that several factories there, including ones used by Microsoft to produce things like webcams and mice, were treating their workers like garbage. “We are like prisoners. It seems like we live only to work. We do not work to live. We do not live a life, only work.”

I am true believer of the hypothesis that the sillier a given country's gadgets, the fewer problems it has. In the case of Japan, we now have the Potechi No Te, which translates to Potato Chip Hand. It's actually silly and not silly at the same time, as it's meant to protect your fingers from getting greasy every time you eat chips.

N900 turned into PS3 controller courtesy of BlueMaemo emulator
Posted on December 30, 2009 | No CommentsShould you be the sort of person who doesn't mind fiddling around with alpha level software, you'll definitely want to know about the BlueMaemo Bluetooth emulator. Available via the Extras-Devel repository on your N900, this app allows the device to mimic other Bluetooth gadgets, such as keyboards, mice, and yes indeedy, gaming controllers. Its developer Valério Domingos humbly points out that the purpose of connecting up to a PS3 is purely for menu navigation and easier text input, though we've no doubt a few hardcore Nokia loyalists will try using this in an action game to prove the N900's superiority. You may follow Valério and his ongoing refinement of the app in the Maemo.org link below, or you can jump past the break to see the full controller layout and an instructional video on how to hook things up -- it's in Italian, but you should be able to grasp what's going on senza problemi.

Dell lays off 700, website now full of price mistakes

Ever tried to get rid of an old, sack o’ crap computer? It's not as easy as it sounds. You can't just throw it in the garbage (legally), charitable organizations have finally realized that it takes more time and effort than it's worth to refurbish a 486 DX2/66 machine that nobody’s going to use anyway, and dumping the computer at your municipal recycling center often costs a pretty penny.

Microsoft's research division is hitting the streets and hanging with the college crowd recently. This nationwide tour is showing off some sick technology in an effort that's probably, although I don't know for sure, aimed at making Microsoft look cool and hip to upcoming talent. The demos should do just that too. Think Tom Cruises's person computer from Minority Report combined with Tony Stark's toys from Iron Man.

I wanted to like the Mighty Mouse, Apple's no-button mouse with tiny little ball on top. I was totally ready to make it my mouse of choice for years to come. We'd grow old together. We'd have children.
Sadly, the Mighty Mouse was a mess. The ball got crudded up fairly easily and it stopped tracking and ended up in the big pile of junk in my office.
But that's about to change.

Microgravity researchers at NASA have used a superconducting magnet that generated a field powerful enough to levitate the water inside a mouse, effectively simulating weightlessness for the rodents, right here on earth! The first floating mouse didn't seem very happy about the ordeal, so subsequent tests involved sedating the test mice. As should be expected, the doped up mice had a much better time floating around.
