Happy MMS on the iPhone day, AT&T customers!

It's time to go back, folks. Waaay back. Back to a simpler time; back when the government was busy with Enron and leaving No Child Behind. Back when the best Nintendo handheld the world knew had one screen and looked vaguely like a clam, and smart phones cost upwards of $600 - on contract.

AT&T begins rolling out MMS for the iPhone

A few hours ago, we got a tip from one of our readers that they’d popped into their iPhone messaging app this morning, only to find that they’d suddenly gained the ability to send MMS. We chalked it up as a fluke – AT&T promised it would launch on September 25th, after all, and they [...]

Verizon to launch Nokia 7705 Twist early next week

Thanks to an earlier leaked slide regarding Verizon’s upcoming lineup, we had a good idea that Nokia’s boxy little number, the 7705 Twist, would be joining Big Red’s network sooner than later. Fast forward two weeks and Nokia has officially announced the launch of its 7705 Twist. Besides its unusual shape, the Twist features a, you [...]

iPhone 3G and 3G S officially getting MMS on September 25

After months of speculation (and frustration) MMS for the iPhone 3G and 3G S is officially arriving on September 25, AT&T has confirmed. This is a full 3 days after summer officially ends (AT&T's original deadline was "late summer") as our own MG pointed out earlier today, but like a lot of things with Apple/AT&T, better late than never.

Exciting rumor: iPhone 3G S may finally get MMS next week

The iPhone 3G S launched a few months ago, but AT&T users haven't been able to take advantage of a few much vaunted (and much needed) features as yet: MMS, Bluetooth file-sharing, and tethering are the Big Three. This, of course, despite the fact that AT&T is the “flagship” carrier! But never mind all that, because today we have some good news in the way of this latest bit of gossip: starting with iPhone OS 3.1, AT&T users will, in fact, be able to use MMS and Bluetooth file-sharing. Welcome to 2006, iPhone owners!

Samsung cracking away at an 800mhz Armani 2?

When it comes to “luxury” brand handsets, the original Samsung Armani is one of the less ridiculous choices you could make. It is, in every sense, the exact opposite of the Dior phone. It has actual features that people might want, isn’t mindblowingly ugly, and doesn’t cost 5-friggin’-thousand dollars. We’re not sure how well the [...]

AT&T Denies Rumors of MMS Delays, Tethering Costs for iPhone

Without citing a source (not even an anonymous one), blog AppModo claims AT&T will be delaying multimedia-messaging support for iPhone customers until September. The blog also echoes a rumor that a tethering plan will cost an extra $55 per month for iPhone customers. AT&T has denied both these claims. In an e-mail to Wired.com, an AT&T [...]

Rumor: iPhone tether plan to be $55 per month, coming in September

We all hope that eventually AT&T will get things together and out a tethering plan for the iPhone. But most of us are also nervous what AT&T is going to charge. We’ve heard everything from $40 to $60, but now one site is stating that AT&T told them directly all the details. We’re doubtful but [...]

Video: Sony Ericsson’s new Android UI “Rachel” gets toured

Uh-oh. Better look out, HTC. Looks like Sense isn’t the only gorgeous Android overhaul on the block anymore. USEB managed to scrounge up a demo of Sony Ericsson’s Android interface, codenamed “Rachel” (as inherited from the device it’s expected to launch on, also named “Rachel”), and man does it look fantastic. What to look for: Notice the [...]

How AT&T Stumbled Through the iPhone 3GS Launch

Over the weekend Apple waltzed through the latest iPhone launch, while its partner AT&T tripped and stumbled like a dance-school dropout. Perhaps AT&T didn’t feel the need to smooth its moves, because in three days Apple sold over a million iPhone 3GS units worldwide anyway. But in a surprising move, Apple two weeks ago pointed the [...]

Gadget Lab Video: iPhone 3GS Picks up the Pace With New Features

Now that I’ve had an entire weekend to tinker with the new iPhone 3GS, I can officially tell you it’s pretty damn sweet. As you’ll see in the video above, the new camera [...]
