Posted on May 21, 2010 | No CommentsAnd I thought my new monitor was fancy! (It certainly cost enough...) Here we have a plain ol' MacBook Pro using a series of 28 projectors to create a 22-megapixel display. That works out to 7168x3072. Borderline insane, yes.

Dell and Goodwill add more free computer recycling drop off sites
Posted on December 16, 2009 | No Comments
Ever tried to get rid of an old, sack o’ crap computer? It's not as easy as it sounds. You can't just throw it in the garbage (legally), charitable organizations have finally realized that it takes more time and effort than it's worth to refurbish a 486 DX2/66 machine that nobody’s going to use anyway, and dumping the computer at your municipal recycling center often costs a pretty penny.

Atlona steps up to the plate, produces DVI to Mini DisplayPort converter
Posted on September 23, 2009 | No Comments
Apple left out a large customer base when it released the Mini DisplayPort only 24-inch Cinema Display. Suddenly computers with only a DVI output couldn't play nicely with Apple's top monitor. Tears have certainly been shed and at least a few fanboys probably called foul, but until now, there was nothing that could be done besides replace the computer’s graphic card which isn't an option for older notebooks.

Posted on September 1, 2009 | No CommentsIt's not even a story any more that Apple loves to reject Apps from the App Store. Apple rejected it because “this category of applications is often used for the purpose of infringing third party rights.”

iPhone OS on a touchscreen monitor, multi-touch and all
Posted on June 14, 2009 | No Comments
Now this is the hack of the weekend or the hoax of the weekend. Some intrepid hackers have run what appears to be iPhone OS 2.x on a "multi-touch" monitor with accelerometer support. I've found a few examples of monitors that could potentially pull this off but I haven't been able to pin down a model number. However, because iPhone OS is basically a LinuxMach kernel it should be bootable on Intel hardware - at least in an emulator - all of this is feasible.
If you've ever come to Japan, and especially to Tokyo, you will have noticed this country's love for digital signage systems. They're
