Is the Nexus One’s display inferior to the Droid’s?
Posted on April 6, 2010 | No CommentsScience! Big words! These are two things we like around these parts, even if we don’t really understand them. When I look at the Nexus One’s display, I can’t help but slap my knee and let out some sort of proclamation of joy, like “Gee Wiz!”, or “Well, I’ll be!”, or “Fwaaaaarg.” Some people, however, [...] -
Hands on with the Samsung Galaxy S [Updated!]
Posted on March 23, 2010 | No CommentsWe literally just had our hands on with the just announced Samsung Galaxy S — and boy, was it a beauty. Read on for our first impressions. This is without a doubt the most gorgeous screen we’ve ever seen on a handset. It’s massive, vibrant, and just so, so bright. We can’t wait to see how the [...] -
Intel’s new Gulftown i7-980X CPU reviews well
Posted on March 11, 2010 | No Comments
Intel cut loose some benchmarking samples of their new, top of the line CPU, the i7-980X Extreme Edition. This is not a CPU intended for the causal use, but rather aim directly at the gaming market. MSRP for the CPU all by itself is a jaw dropping $999, and rumors are already circulating that the OEMs are already looking at coming out with systems that utilize the new processors.

Patriot shows off a monster 40 SSD-equipped computer
Posted on March 5, 2010 | No Comments
Say what you will, but $60k seems like a fair price for such a beast. Patroit recorded 155,000 IOPS/s on the computer. I ran the same test on my 5400 RPM notebook drive and got 401. Just think, you wouldn't have to wait for file transfers anymore, game levels would load nearly instantly, and Windows would boot faster than Chrome OS. (maybe) But then again it costs more than most a convertible Corvette and you might not like the type of ladies the computer attracts.

Review: Xetum Tyndall automatic watch
Posted on March 3, 2010 | No Comments
If you've been following the HourTime podcasts you'll know that I have a hatred fro three-handed watches. For some reason I've grown weary of divers and dress watches without complications. Luckily, the Tyndall is here to bring me back from the brink of insanity.
Designed by Jeff Kuo of San Francisco, the Xetum Tyndall is the epitome of American high-style design watches. It's not fancy, it's not overly beefy, and it's made to last. If you're tired of divers that look like pie plates and monster watches that look like manhole covers yet contain a cheap Chinese movement, this is the watch for you.

Orb releases a mini Speaker/Amp combo
Posted on February 25, 2010 | No CommentsOrb, a small company in New York, makes odd-looking speakers with some great sound. They just announced a small speaker/amp combo for $299 which includes two speakers and an optional subwoofer. The handmade speakers come in multiple finishes (I have the copper here at the house, which I personally don’t think go with my rug) [...] -
Kettquad: Das Off-Road Fun
Posted on February 17, 2010 | No CommentsYou like that? It’s kind of a big quad racer for kids and/or smaller adults and it’s coming to the US from Germany thanks to toy maker Kettler. Now here’s the bad part: this monster costs over $800 but it has a completely enclosed chain and disk brakes. There’s not a lot of specs on [...] -
Tosvet CS79: Monstrous yet strangely alluring
Posted on February 16, 2010 | No CommentsYou guys ready to look at some massive watches? Tsovet’s Ronda Quartz-powered CS79 is quite intriguing even if the 10 – actually a 0? – is a bit off-putting. This monster watch costs $425 and is cased in PVD-coated steel on a leather band. They have a few other interesting models – most are, sadly, quartz [...] -
Blaster Master coming to Wiiware
Posted on February 9, 2010 | No CommentsHoly wow. Remember this game? You were some kid named Jason with a frog. The frog turns into a monster and then disappears and you follow the frog in a battle tank called Sofia the Third (WTF, right?). Well, the game has been remade and is coming to Wiiware. All of the goodness is there [...] -
Xetum: Sexy Swiss monster watches
Posted on February 4, 2010 | No CommentsJeff Kuo designed these striking Xetum watches and I’m kind of in love. THey have all the austerity without the price and start at $995 for the black dial Stinson. I’m not usually a fan of three handers but this is an exception. The face is clean and the watch is nice and thick. The watch [...] -
I present to you a Panerai Radiomir Tourbillon GMT Ceramica Lo Scientziato Watch
Posted on January 27, 2010 | No CommentsAriel “Sass-master 2000″ Adams has some great shots of the new Panerai monster. This watch, just for reference, costs more than ten of my cars. The watch is made of black ceramic and it uses Panerai’s tourbillon calibre behind a skeletonized face. You’ll notice a second’s hand, an AM/PM indicator, and a GMT hand front [...] -
Juniper Systems rugged handheld is rugged
Posted on January 25, 2010 | No CommentsRuggedized computers are typically pretty ugly, and the Juniper Systems handheld is no exception. Designed to withstand extreme temperatures, and drops onto concrete from a height of up to 5ft without damage, it’d be the ideal thing for the construction site or roadworks project. That’s not to say that this particular handheld is not without it’s [...] -
Quick Look: ASUS NX90
Posted on January 5, 2010 | No CommentsThe ASUS NX90 looks like a monster. It has a full sized keyboard surrounded by a field of polished aluminum. There is no visible trackpad – just the metal – and you have another trackpad on the right side. The Band & Olufsen heritage is abundantly clear: this is a high end machine with quite [...] -
Dell lays off 700, website now full of price mistakes
Posted on December 17, 2009 | No CommentsPut two and two together people, and get WTF. Dell is laying off 700 of its 4,500 employees by June 2010 and now, for some odd reason, the Dell website is featuring laser mice for $4,000 and a Xeon E3110 machine for $16.99. Dailytech noticed the confluence of oddity when Slickdeals started posting machines like [...] -
Video: IntoDream, the portable DreamCast, explained
