    Denon headphones include iPad controls

Denon has released a new set of headphones, bringing the company's total number of headphone models to 14. These new headphones, while exciting from a metaphysical standpoint (Questions can me asked, including "Does Denon really need to sell 14 different headphone models?"), are also interesting from a practical standpoint. The two in-ear models are iPhone and iPad compatibvle while the AH-NC800 - price TBD - are noise canceling. Click through for the press release. Because we weren't sent images I've placed an image of Burt Reynolds here instead.

  • Magellan debuts GPS app / car kit for iPhone and iPod touch

Magellan debuts GPS app / car kit for iPhone and iPod touch

Magellan's new iPhone navigation app won't do much for the iPod touch on its own, but it looks like the company's forthcoming Premium Car Kit will in fact work just fine with the handheld out of the box, unlike TomTom's similar Car Kit. Otherwise, there aren't exactly a ton of surprises, but the cradle is fully adjustable to accommodate a range of sleeves or cases, and it'll of course also charge your iPhone or iPod touch, and give it some amplified sound courtesy of the built-in speaker. The navigation app itself also seems to be more than ready to challenge the competition, with it boasting spoken street names, NAVTEQ maps, 3D landmarks, in-app music control, a pedestrian mode, and a price tag of $79.99. No word on a price or release date for the cradle just yet, but Magellan says it is "coming soon" -- iPhone users can get the app from the App Store right now.

  • Cartel’s CT-2000 in-car Bluetooth handset adds music control, can’t shake the retro

Cartel’s CT-2000 in-car Bluetooth handset adds music control, can’t shake the retro

Cartel's CT-1000 brought about lots of laughs here at Engadget HQ, and frankly, we're shocked and amazed (and glad) these guys are still hanging tough two years later. The newest in-car handset system is the predictably titled CT-2000, which includes a Bluetooth-enabled handset that's meant to be permanently installed within your vehicle and wired to your audio system. Once installed, all of your mobile calls can be routed to this -- because, you know, chatting on a corded phone circa 1992 is entirely more safe than chatting on your mobile or using a handsfree solution. The only difference we can spot between the new guy and the aged sibling is the addition of music control, a "slimmer" (albeit wider) design, room for your phone contacts and one-touch speed dialing. There's no mention of a price, but trust us, you're better off in the dark.

    [Thanks, Martin]
