How-to: push Chrome / Firefox links to your Android 2.2 Froyo device (video)
Posted on May 31, 2010 | No CommentsWhile we absolutely adore our Nexus One -- now that it's got a bellyful of that fabulous frozen yogurt -- one of the most exciting Android additions shown off at Google I/O isn't actually slated for Froyo: the ability to push apps and music over the air from computer to phone. The underlying framework apparently is, though, and thus a bite-sized version of the functionality is already available at Google Code. If you're one of the lucky few running Android 2.2, you can get an extension for Chrome and Firefox web browsers that will let you push URLs, Maps and YouTube video links direct to your device using a Google Account. You can think of it as an early foray into a Continuous Client, perhaps, sharing with yourself before you head to a business meeting. Better yet, share an account with a group of friends and push interesting items to everyone on the go. See how (and see it in action) right after the break.Continue reading How-to: push Chrome / Firefox links to your Android 2.2 Froyo device (video)

BlueAnt S4 Speakerphone: Speak to Me
Posted on May 19, 2010 | No Comments
BlueAnt Wireless just released its new hands-free speakerphone, the S4. It attaches to any car visor and connects wirelessly to most Bluetooth handsets. Simply turn it on and go. Reading the manual is not required; the S4 will vocally guide you through setup.
Once paired with your handset, you can use the hands-free device without ever having to take your phone out of your pocket. The S4 offers a bunch of features although some seem gimmicky at best.

Slacker Radio 2.0 for iPhone to feature station caching, out ’soonish’
Posted on May 18, 2010 | No CommentsEver since Slacker Radio decided to flee the hardware business, we've been looking forward to bigger and better things from its mobile apps. If the hands-on that Dave Zatz got with the version 2.0 software for iPhone is any indication we won't be waiting in vain, either. The big news here is station caching: that's right, users will soon be able to store music for off-line access, whether you're listening on a plane or in a dead zone. Exactly how many stations (and for how long) you can store is currently a mystery, although the reviewer said it took about 20 minutes to cache six stations, with each one being good for at least a couple hours playback. In order to take advantage of this, you will need to purchase the Slacker Radio Plus package, and you'll have to wait for the app to be approved by Apple, which could be a couple days from now -- or it could be never, depending on Apple's mood.Slacker Radio 2.0 for iPhone to feature station caching, out 'soonish' originally appeared on Engadget on Tue, 18 May 2010 11:29:00 EST. Oots oots oots! Rock the iPad Dev Camp with your iPad DJ mixer!
Posted on April 21, 2010 | No Comments
Scoble interviews Rana Sobhany on her iPad DJ mixing set-up. It's actually quite cool, but Scoble prepping himself to take on some Dubstep is a bit comical to imagine. I'm sure, however, he's a very capable House dancer.
All of her explaining, however, really takes the magic out of all of this. I'd rather maybe, you know, hear some actual music.
