RIM CEO pulls an AT&T: “We need to conserve bandwidth”
Posted on February 16, 2010 | No CommentsRIM CEO Mike Lazaridis started blabbering on in an interview about network applications for the Blackberry platform. Was he thankful that developers were creating rich applications for his phones? Was he excited for the future? No. He started horking about “conserving bandwidth,” just like AT&T’s CEO: “Manufacturers had better start building more efficient applications and more [...] -
Video: Nokia N900 + SNES Emulator + PS3 Controller = Portable geek bliss
Posted on February 5, 2010 | No CommentsI’ll admit it: When the oh-so-damned-clever coding community managed to get an SNES emulator running on the N900 at fullspeed with features like TV-out, I got all kinds of excited. Hell, even Nokia was excited about it until they got smacked by the Mighty Hand of the Law for showing it. Well, it just got even [...] -
Huh, the Apple Store is still up
Posted on January 27, 2010 | No CommentsLook at that. The Apple Store is still up. It’s Apple’s normal custom to shut down the store shortly before a major Apple event. Does this mean that maybe there isn’t anything new today? Oh man, wouldn’t that be the greatest? Just think of the riots. SanFran wouldn’t know how to contain so many angry [...] -
Wireless magnifier broadcasts tiny text to your gigantic TV
Posted on January 26, 2010 | No Comments
I have bad eyes. A lot of nerds do and I can unforunatly see myself needing something like this before I leave this earth. But I'll be damned if I pay $149.95 for it at Hammacher Schlemmer. I'd rather learn braille.

Video hands-on: 2010 Ford Taurus SHO
Posted on January 26, 2010 | No CommentsThe 2010 Ford Taurus SHO is quite possibly the geekest car to ever wear the blue oval. It’s packed with nearly every technology option that Ford has available. Let’s call it the working-nerds Audi A8 because while it doesn’t have an NVIDIA Tegra-powered entertainment cluster with Google Earth and handwriting input, there are more [...] -
RCA Airnergy promises usable power generated from Wi-Fi signals. Possible?
Posted on January 13, 2010 | No CommentsI’m a simple man. I understand certain things. How ambient Wi-Fi signals could be converted into enough energy to charge a BlackBerry is something I do NOT understand. However, RCA not only showed off the technology at CES but the device will apparently be available by the summer and it’ll only cost $40. OhGizmo! tells us [...] -
Here’s a 1990 CES photo set for your amusement
Posted on January 10, 2010 | No CommentsAnother year, another CES. The show this year wasn’t that different then previous years with some new stuff, a lot of old crap, and nerds all over Vegas. Hopefully you followed us around the show floor via our massively-successful Livestream feed. If not, stay tuned. We’re going to cut a lot of the fluff and repost [...] -
ESPN launching 3D network in June
Posted on January 5, 2010 | No Comments
ESPN has long been the leader in live HDTV and the network is about to stay ahead of the curve yet again by launching its own 3D network early this summer. But this network is just a test and ESPN is only committing to it through June 2011. So if you really want your kids growing up watching live 3D events, you better support ESPN's effort.

Guy brings whole computer rig into B&N, the world snickers
Posted on December 20, 2009 | No Comments
This dude probably had to get some work done and decided to mooch off of B&N's free Internet. But seriously? Did he really have to do it in this fashion? I mean, he's just further advancing the general public's view of nerds.

More details emerge about the Boxee Box
Posted on December 9, 2009 | No Comments
Everyone, where everyone means Internet nerds, has been talking a lot about the Boxee Box the last few days. For good reason too. It brings the ultra-cool software to your living room in an official product. AppleTV hacking will soon not be required to use Boxee on your HDTV. But with all the talk recently, some points have been missing. No more, Andrew from Boxee just posted a bunch of info concerning the upcoming digital appliance.

New device coming from Syabas, the makers of Popcorn Hour, at CES ‘10
Posted on December 8, 2009 | No Comments
Popcorn Hour is a great product and loved by many nerds. But that's just it, the device is somewhat nerdy. Apparently the maker, Syabas, has another Internet-connected device coming and it will be shown off at CES 2010. While certain key points are missing right now like the price, availability, and hardware specs, what little info I do have makes this box sound promising indeed.

Who wants this Seagate T-Shirt?

UPS just dropped off this beauty courtesy of Seagate and I think its owner should be someone that will actually wear it. That's not me. So who wants it? Anyone? It's an XL.

Gee, look, a Kindle on the The Big Bang Theory
Posted on December 8, 2009 | No CommentsDid you catch The Big Bang Theory last night? If so, then you probably noticed the Kindle awkwardly propped up in front of the telephone. I mean, it was only shown on screen about 17,000 times last night. We get it writers and advertisers, the characters on the show are nerds and probably have gadgets, [...]
