Motorola MOTOSPLIT makes the Backflip look normal
Posted on January 25, 2010 | No Comments
Motorola's by no means a stranger to phones with wonky form factors. I mean, just look at the Moto Backflip - the keyboard! It's on the back! What is this, the future?
It gets crazier, friends.

Confirmed: T-Mobile to launch the HTC HD2
Posted on January 6, 2010 | No CommentsAll the signs were already indicating that T-Mobile was planning on launching the gloriously beautiful HTC HD2, but good ol’ Stevie Ballmer just confirmed it during his CES 2010 keynote. Dates? Nope. Pricing? Nope. The best we’ve got is still HTC head honcho Peter Chou’s confirmation that it’d be launching in the US in “Early [...] -
AT&T to launch two webOS devices in the next six months
Posted on January 6, 2010 | No CommentsThey’re keepin’ mum on exactly which devices they’ll be getting, but AT&T just announced at their press developer conference that they’ll be offering up not one, but two Palm webOS devices by mid-2010. Sure, it could be the Pre and the Pixi – but at this point, that’d be all kinds of disappointing. Crunch Network: [...] -
Video: The LG eXpo’s projector accessory gets demoed
Posted on December 21, 2009 | No Comments
Outside of a completely simulated appearance in a commercial, we've been hard-pressed in finding any video of the LG eXpo's projector attachment in action. We expected to see some hit the Tubes after the handset launched last week - alas, the projector accessory still hasn't hit the shelves.
Fortunately, the guys over at MobileSyrup have managed to scrounge one up north of the border.

Real world shots of the xpPhone trickle out, video coming “soon”
Posted on December 11, 2009 | No Comments
Outside of hardware renders and a few prototype appearances at trade shows, there aren't a whole lot of photos of the nearly mythical xpPhone -- the phone that runs Windows XP or, according to the manufacturer, Windows 7 -- floating around. In fact, after hearing next to nothing beyond talks of pre-orders in almost six months, I'd begun to wonder if this thing actually existed.
Today, the manufacturer ITG released real world shots of their latest product sample, color-customized in white/green. They also add that "More videos of real sample will come out soon", which might just mean this thing is gettin' close to production. One more shot after the jump.

Windows Mobile 6.5 upgrade for the Samsung Jack now available
Posted on November 4, 2009 | No CommentsLook – we’re certainly not the world’s biggest fans of Windows Mobile 6.5, but we still absolutely feel that anyone who has the opportunity to upgrade from 6.1 to 6.5 should certainly do so. If you’ve got a Samsung Jack, we’ve got good news: that “anyone” group now includes you. Samsung just hit us up to [...] -
Verizon to sell the Droid to New Yorkers extra, extra early
Posted on November 4, 2009 | No CommentsSo you’ve lurked the blogs, watched the unboxing, and read the coverage, and you just know: you want your Droid. You already know that most Verizon Stores are opening the doors a bit early at 7 AM to get your your fix – but what if you want it even earlier? We just got word that [...] -
BillShrink shows us that the Droid is as expensive as the iPhone 3GS
Posted on October 30, 2009 | No CommentsNot amazing news but interesting nonetheless: Billshrink, a site dedicated to “saving you money” compared the total cost of ownership in the 3GS, the Pre, the MyTouch 3G, and the Droid. They found that TCO for an unlimited rate plan costs $3,799, the same as the iPhone 3GS. Both the Pre and the MyTouch are [...] -
Oh, BTW: The Verizon BlackBerry Storm2 launched today
Posted on October 28, 2009 | No CommentsWhen we heard the news that the BlackBerry Storm2 would be launching on Verizon on the same day as their much heralded Droid, we got a gut feeling that the Storm2 would fly pretty much under the radar all day. And sure enough, it has. So, let this serve as a reminder for anyone who’s itchin’ [...] -
The Droid is coming, and it brought friends
Posted on October 23, 2009 | No Comments
Chalk this one up as a rumor, but it's looking like Droid is going to be an army, rather then a lone warrior. There's been some rumblings that at least other handset manufacturers are creating their own Droids as well.

Pre-pre-sale: The Moto CLIQ pre-sale countdown begins
Posted on September 29, 2009 | No CommentsBoom! Looks like Moto CLIQ pamphlet that leaked out a few days ago was spot on. The pamphlet claimed that pre-orders for Motorola’s first ‘Droid handset would begin on Oct. 19th – and sure enough, T-mobile just started the official countdown. There isn’t much in terms of new information, but hey – at least now we [...] -
AT&T begins rolling out MMS for the iPhone
Posted on September 13, 2009 | No CommentsA few hours ago, we got a tip from one of our readers that they’d popped into their iPhone messaging app this morning, only to find that they’d suddenly gained the ability to send MMS. We chalked it up as a fluke – AT&T promised it would launch on September 25th, after all, and they [...] -
Verizon beats everyone at the HTC Touch Pro 2 game
Posted on September 10, 2009 | No CommentsSlow and steady wins the race, right? Verizon’s certainly not the first off the gate with the Touch Pro 2, but they definitely just took the lead in our books. Both Sprint and T-Mobile are charging a dang-near-absurd $350 bucks for theirs, with the latter adding insult to injury by not even including a 3.5mm [...]
