Opera Mini 5 beta gets a non-Java version for Windows Mobile phones

Opera Software has been busy lately, releasing fresh finalized and beta products on a near-daily basis. This morning, the company announced that it has released a native version of Opera Mini 5 beta for handsets running Windows Mobile 5 and 6. Interestingly, the new WinMo version of Opera Mini does not require Java. That basically means any Windows Mobile phone can accommodate the app. Despite not requiring Java, Opera Mini 5 beta for Windows Mobile includes the same feature set as the Java-based version.

Samsung keeps the mini-camcorder war rolling, announces two new models

In addition to the cameras we told you about earlier today, Samsung also announced two new mini-camcorders. Expanding on their existing line, the new Samsung models pretty much just bring the specs up to the next level and add a few new features. When Samsung brought their first mini-camcorder onto the market, no one really noticed. The market was dominated by Flip, and besides that, Samsung didn't really bring anything new to the table. That's not the case this time around.

DoubleSight outs three new USB mini-monitors

I'm a fan of USB mini-monitors. They're super handy if you're a photoshop'r or to house Tweetdeck, but they can also get a little expensive and sometimes cost more than full size LCD monitors. But these from DoubleSight are little more on the affordable side. Plus, there is a webcam add-on for the larger model and everyone loves webcams.

Western Digital shrinks the WD TV down to a portable size with the Mini

Apparently the WD TV wasn’t small enough. The geeks at Western Digital just outed the WD TV Mini that packages most of the original into an even smaller package.

The main difference between the original and new Mini model is that the new one doesn’t have optical or HDMI output, only component and composite. But that [...]

While there's not exactly a whole lot of surprises, we do get a good look at the new, slightly recessed "anti-glare" display, along with the revised trackpad, the new LCD-intergrated speakers, and the rearranged port and card slots. Head on past the break to check it out for yourself.
