    China’s knockoff iPads have no one fooled… or do they?

    Pretty sure China plays by its own rules when it comes to pirated versus non-piated goods, but this story's still worth a chuckle. Ever since Apple said that it would delay international launches of the iPad in order to placate U.S. demand— the magical and revolutionary device is flying off the shelves, it seems—Chinese manufacturers have flooded their internal market with iPad knockoff after iPad knockoff. They're slightly less expensive than the real thing, but the important part is that they're available right now. Not bona fide, but bona found. I love how that makes no sense whatsoever.

    It's big in Korea, it's probably big in China's grey market, and the iPhone continues to be big in Japan. According to a report [JP] released by Tokyo-based research company Impress R&D, the iPhone has captured a whopping 46.1% of the domestic smartphone market.

    Rumor: Verizon Storm 2 launching Oct. 28th at $179.99?

    storm-2-vzw-1028 It's almost depressing to see how far out of their way Verizon is going -- knowingly or not -- to tone down the launch of the BlackBerry Storm2 on their network. The normal pre-launch fanfare (Mailers and posters and contests, oh my!) is non-existent. At this point, they're not even giving the device its own launch day.

    So, this is what that Halo anime series, Halo Legends, looks like. It needs to be said that my knowledge of anime is more or less non-existent (I saw Akira once when I was around 16-years-old. It didn't change my life.), so pardon my inability to critique it with any degree of competence.
