Rumor: HTC Scorpion and all of its 1.5 Ghz, Android 2.2 goodness headed for Verizon?
Posted on June 3, 2010 | No Comments
Waaay back in February, we told you guys a tale of the HTC Scorpion, a mighty beast of a phone. Packing Android 2.2 and a 1.5 Ghz (!) processor, it could very well be the phone that everyone lusts over after their love for the current king, the EVO 4G, tapers.
Take it as you will for now, but we just got a heads up from a generally well-informed source that the Scorpion is headed for.... [insert drumroll here]

Sprint HTC EVO pre-orders start this month at The Shack
Posted on May 6, 2010 | No CommentsHTC's EVO 4G super-speced handset seems to be everywhere and nowhere at the same time. That situation looks set to change soon based on the pic above nabbed off The Shack's internal website showing a big "coming soon" exclamation that translates to pre-orders starting "later this month." Remember, in addition to Android 2.1, an 8 megapixel camera, and 4.3-inch 480 x 800 display backed by fierce Snapdragon silicon, the Evo also comes packing WiMAX with built-in hotspot capability. We're still not sure if Sprint will charge for that or make it a freebie a la Verizon's Palm Pre and Pixi offering, but we can hope.

Verizon to launch the HTC Incredible within 2 weeks?
Posted on March 18, 2010 | No CommentsOh, HTC Incredible, you just can’t stay off the Internet, can you? We’ve seen you in not one, but two series of spy shots, we’ve seen you leak out in alternative color schemes — hell, we’ve even spotted you roaming around Verizon’s inventory system. We sure are seeing a lot of you — and [...] -

Samsung to follow up the ultra cheap Corby with the even cheaper Corby Pop
Posted on December 18, 2009 | No CommentsSamsung already managed to get the Samsung Corby down to a surprisingly dirt-cheap price tag, packing in a 2.8" touchscreen, 2 MP camera, and FM radio for less than $200 bucks -- unlocked, and without contract. It seems that wasn't enough, however - according to the latest whispers from the rumor mill, they're aiming even lower. According to Unwired View, Samsung's cracking away at a new uber-cheap handset called the Corby Pop. There aren't any pictures of the Corby Pop yet - in its place, please accept this picture of a ham sandwich.

Mysterious HTC Android phone spied, might lean the way of the Dragon
Posted on October 18, 2009 | No CommentsIn an almost perfect world, this spy shot would be of the rumored HTC Dragon, reminiscent of the HD2 with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and packing the latest version of Android / Sense UI -- in a more perfect world, this would all have been confirmed last week and in our hands today delivered via unicorn express, but that's obviously not happening. Still, there's something new and exciting about this device, but we're grasping at straws beyond the handful of pics The Unlockr managed to obtain, several more of which can found just beyond the read link.

Verizon beats everyone at the HTC Touch Pro 2 game
Posted on September 10, 2009 | No CommentsSlow and steady wins the race, right? Verizon’s certainly not the first off the gate with the Touch Pro 2, but they definitely just took the lead in our books. Both Sprint and T-Mobile are charging a dang-near-absurd $350 bucks for theirs, with the latter adding insult to injury by not even including a 3.5mm [...] -
Massive 3800mAh battery makes the Palm Pre look cancerous
Posted on August 7, 2009 | No CommentsRemember that 1350mAh extended Palm Pre battery that Seido released back in July? Childs play. Accessory manufacturer Amzer has gone and made an absolute beast of a battery; one that pats the Seido battery on the head, gives it a juice box, and tells it to go take a nap. Coming in at roughly 3x the [...] -
JVC has two new sets of cans, the Black Series (sounds mean)
Posted on July 30, 2009 | No Comments
JVC knows what's up. It's good to see that not every set of headphones outed by A/V companies lately are in-ear models. Over-the-ear cans are not only so much more comfy, but they generally sound better than in-ear ones too. These two new models come to us under the Black Series label - whatever the hell that means.
Oh, LG Fathom; like the HTC HD2, you're one of Windows Mobile 6.5's last hurrahs -- a final spirited cry as the hawks circle over head. Packing a 1Ghz processor, a full touchscreen and slide-out QWERTY keyboard, it's a solid piece of hardware prematurely plagued to obsolescence by a dying operating system. Ah well.
On the upside, you'll be able to get this thing for (relatively) cheap. One of our sources just sent over a shot of an LG Fathom shelf tag freshly printed from Best Buy's inventory system, price and all.

Sprint isn't doing itself any favors recently by breaking retail's first rule: Customers are dumb, so don't give them choices. But now at Sprint, consumers must decide between the
