Astro A30 Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker headset coming at ya

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker comes out today in North America, and in 10 days in Europe. (It came out in Japan about two weeks ago.) Famous Japanese video game magazine Famitsu gave it a 40/40, so we can safely assume it's not bad at all. Also not bad, probably? The Astro A30 gaming headset. Konami helped the Astro team design the headset, dontcha know?

Nokia asks own blog readers what their favorite part of the X6 is, gets funny answer

It's odd, because we were under the impression that Nokia was doing just fine shunning capacitive touch all these years, but apparently one in three readers of Nokia Conversations find the capacitive touchscreen to be the number one feature of the new X6 handset. Sure, Nokia uses some of the greatest resistive screens in the business, but we've always maintained that capacitive is simply the best when it comes to a finger-based touchscreen interface, and hopefully the Nokia X6 can usher in a new era of peace, understanding and higher-than-average WPM scores for all mankind. Oh, and perhaps some proper it's / its differentiation.

  • HTC Droid Eris priced at $99 for Verizon?

HTC Droid Eris priced at $99 for Verizon?

Sure, the DROID's getting all the attention today, but you might recall that it's not the only thing Verizon has in the pipe has it preps its first Android assault -- HTC's got the Droid Eris in there somewhere, too, which is shaping up to be little more than a branded Hero in a slightly different shell. Against the insanely-spec'd DROID, that may not be a drool-worthy proposition, but fortunately, it's looking like Verizon is going to be pursuing an aggressive tiered pricing strategy that might allow these phones to coexist in peace and everlasting harmony: unlike the DROID's $199 sticker, gdgt has it on good authority that the Droid Eris will run a hundie less at $99. That spanks Sprint's version which currently runs $179.99, but hey, if this means we're going to see a price war down in the 528MHz trenches for the Android midrange, we're all for it.

Cable skips iTunes synchronization foreplay and gets straight to the charging

Believe it or not, sometimes people just want to plug an Apple i-Device into a USB port to charge the thing without waking the sleeping giant that is iTunes. As much as I love hearing my desktop fan start up like a jet engine while iTunes slowly stumbles its way to life only to tell me that the version I downloaded yesterday now needs to be updated again via an 80+ megabyte download, it’d be nice to just charge my i-Whatsit in peace.

Tokyo Game Show: Metal Gear Solid – Peace Walker (2 videos)

One of the biggest titles of this year's Tokyo Game Show is certainly Metal Gear Solid - Peace Walker for the PSP. And it's all about multiplayer. I was able to play the game with a friend (in co-op mode) for about 15 minutes and it completely rocked (the game was playable for the first time). In fact, up to four players could play at the same time (and some TGS guests did).

They're sandals attached to what looks like a house arrest anklet. Slightly less dumb-looking and nobody will dare talk to you, leaving you to find your treasure in peace.
