Video: HTC EVO 4G vs Razors, Pennys, and Screws
Posted on June 11, 2010 | No Comments
So, for one reason or another, you've gotta send your HTC EVO 4G in to Sprint for an exchange. What do you do?
A) Wrap the EVO in the finest cloth you can find, ushering it gently into its shipping crate, or
B) Attack its screen with razor blades, pennies, and screws and film the whole thing for the sake of science/entertainment.
You can probably guess where this is going. (Hint: We probably wouldn't write a post about it if you went with option A.)

Motorola Shadow slithers into Verizon’s inventory database as MB810
Posted on May 29, 2010 | No CommentsIf the whole "smoke -> fire" adage proves true once more, it's looking like Verizon loyalists can expect to see a Shadow at least a few milliseconds before a CDMA iPhone. Following up on months of leaks and rumors, we've got yet another snippet of evidence pointing towards a VZW release of the so-called Motorola Shadow. Spotted here in the carrier's inventory database, the MB810 moniker aligns perfectly with that WiFi certification we saw earlier in the month. Combine that with the fact that this is definitely some sort of Motorola smartphone, and you've got everything you need to start pinching those pennies for a June / July debut. Oh, you already threw down a Benjamin for Memorial Day grub? Good luck with that return policy.

DIY: Get medieval with the Mini-Trebuchet
Posted on March 29, 2010 | No Comments
Make magazine has a special place in my heart, partly because I love the crazy stuff they come up with, and partly because they want to help you build the crazy stuff they come up with. When I was a youngster, we made a rudimentary version of a catapult in scouts. Sure, it didn't work very well, and it was powered by a rubber band made from an inner tube, but you could sure launch a walnut with it. That's why when I see a kit like this, I'm filled with an overwhelming urge to buy one.

The Asus Eee Keyboard will now be released in April 2010
Posted on March 2, 2010 | No Comments
It seems a little odd that we first saw the Eee Keyboard at CES 2009 and it's still not available. The demo that we played with at least seemed like it was nearly production ready. But here we are over a year later and now the Asus chairman is stating that the new release date is April 2010. Like we haven't heard that one before.

Nokia N97 Mini now shipping to American lovers, haters
Posted on December 2, 2009 | No Comments
The miniaturized version of Nokia's N97 began shipping to eager consumers in Europe in late October, but for those unable to save their pennies in America while waiting for the N900, today's the day to unload. As of right now, the (obviously unlocked) N97 Mini is shipping from both Dell and Amazon here in the States, with the former offering it for $430 (after coupon) and the latter selling it for $479.99. Any takers? Or has the full-sized N97 already claimed that piece of your heart?Nokia N97 Mini now shipping to American lovers, haters originally appeared on Engadget on Wed, 02 Dec 2009 21:59:00 EST.
