Messi: You know you’re good when people compare you to a PlayStation!
Posted on April 7, 2010 | No CommentsHow do you know when you're a great athlete? Oh, I don't know, maybe when the top-tier manager of the opposing team calls you a PlayStation! Like, you're so good it's almost as if someone goes into Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer or EA Sports' FIFA, creates a player, than gives said player 12 out of 10 in all the key stats: speed, attack, technical skill, etc. Leo Messi is like a PlayStation.

Sony: “The PS3 is all the 3D gaming you need and you better like it.” (or something like)
Posted on March 24, 2010 | No Comments
Yesterday's Nintendo 3DS took everyone by surprise. Who expected that Nintendo would announce its next big thing on a random Tuesday in March. Not us. Curious what Sony has to say about it? Well, basically don't expect a 3D PSP anytime soon.

Posted on March 4, 2010 | No Comments
The WSJ just posted a blind item about a killer phone Sony has in the works that is capable of downloading and playing Playstation games. It will probably just be a PSP Go with a phone inside. Shown here is an artist's rendition of what it will look like. But wait! There's more!

FIOS the first to get HBO Go
Posted on February 18, 2010 | No CommentsI read something the other day that argued that Netflix has not a chance in hell of becoming "this century's HBO." Netflix may be popular, but don't expect it to achieve the type of penetration and success of the cable channel. Hollywood politics and whatnot. Another reason is that HBO has designs on the on-demand market with HBO Go, a service that lets its subscribers see "anything they want to see, anytime, anywhere, over their laptop, iPhone, tablet, PlayStation." The first cable system to get HBO Go is Verizon FIOS. Supposedly HBO Go will eventually be available to all HBO subscribers, but deals need to be put in place between your ISP and the cable channel.

Sony officially announces Motion Controller in Fall 2010
Posted on January 20, 2010 | No Comments
Sony wants you to know that the “Motion Controller” will be available worldwide this Fall. It’s also adamant that the name “Motion Controller” is a tentative name for now. We’ve heard murmurs that it’d be called “Gem,” but for now it’s “Motion Controller.” I’d suggest that Sony call it “Purple Bulb Knob,” but the company’s official strategy is “Don’t Listen to Doug.”

Posted on December 30, 2009 | No CommentsNot much to say here other than there's a PlayStation emulator for the HD2 and it bloody well works! You can hit the read link to find out how to get it up and running on your own handset, and then we'll naturally expect you to come back and tell us how good it felt to play Final Fantasy VII in a whole new way. Tekken 3 on the HTC HD2
Posted on December 29, 2009 | No CommentsSo there's actually two things to tell you about here; for one thing, you can play Tekken 3 on your HTC HD2 phone. That's cool and all, but the big story is the emulator used to play it. The emulator, named FPSECE, not only supports the Playstation 1, but the touchscreen as well.
