The iPhone 4’s outer case makes it on camera… in Portugal
Posted on June 1, 2010 | No CommentsiPhone 4 parts just keep on dribbling out of China and turning up around the world -- this time it's the next-gen phone's outer case on a video from iPhone Portgual. The site actually has two cases, which it says were purchased by a reader in China, and while they look genuine enough, we obviously can't tell for certain whether they're real. In any event, at this rate we'll have enough leaked parts to assemble the entire damn thing by the time Steve takes the stage at WWDC to announce it in a few days -- or hey, maybe he'll just show it off at D8 tonight. Either way, we'll be there. Videos after the break.
[Thanks, Mike]Continue reading The iPhone 4's outer case makes it on camera... in Portugal

Samsung M5650 takes Corby a little upmarket
Posted on December 21, 2009 | No CommentsIn case you hadn't realized that the full-touch invasion was in full swing, consider this your final warning: Samsung has just announced its M5650, essentially a minor upmarket revision from the colorful Corby launches a few months back. On top of a 3 megapixel cam, the M5650 features WiFi, 3G, some trick social network integration (expect any phone worth a damn to do this in 2010), an FM radio, something Samsung ominously calls the "Cartoon UI," and a one-touch music key. It's not going to blow anyone away on paper, but this is the kind of sweet little number that could get subsidized down to free on virtually any postpaid carrier in the world -- and zero out-of-pocket is always an intriguing proposition, is it not? The M5650's available now in Portugal and will be coming to other parts of Europe, the Middle East, and Asia before too long.Samsung M5650 takes Corby a little upmarket originally appeared on Engadget Mobile on Mon, 21 Dec 2009 18:27:00 EST. Instant translation: Jibbigo Spanish-English translator works in real time
Posted on October 30, 2009 | No CommentsCan you even imagine what it must have been like to be an early explorer? Like, you leave Spain or Portugal on some rickety boat, and arrive in the New World. Cool and all, but, outside of shooting everything in sight, how do you communicate with anybody? What, do you point to the sun and say “sol,” and expect the other guy to repeat “sol”? That can't be an efficient way to learn a language, especially when it's, you know, a very real clash of cultures. If only they had (drum roll, please) something like Jibbigo Speech Translator English Spanish, which automatically translates from Spanish into English, and vice-versa.

Samsung’s solar Blue Earth launching in Sweden this month, elsewhere soon
Posted on October 14, 2009 | No CommentsFiled under: Handsets, Samsung, GSM, EDGE, HSDPA, UMTS
First, the good news: that slide we saw back in August promising Blue Earth deliveries in October was spot on, seeing how Samsung just made an official announcement to that effect. Now, the bad: unless you're in Sweden, that doesn't mean much -- at least, not yet. The HSDPA-equipped full touch handset with an integrated solar charger is set to launch in the Nordic nation this month, with France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Portugal, and "other European and Asian countries" following on shortly; notably missing is the US, which wouldn't benefit from the 900 / 2100MHz 3G radio anyhow. Pricing hasn't been announced, but does it really matter when you'll be saving all that cash on your power bill?Samsung's solar Blue Earth launching in Sweden this month, elsewhere soon originally appeared on Engadget Mobile on Wed, 14 Oct 2009 01:32:00 EST.
