Short Version: Fresh from the box, Creative’s World of Warcraft, is here! They were designed for WoW players and their performance definitely reflects that. While a tad bulky, they don’t feel heavy.
Pros
• Very Comfortable
• Hard to hear outside the headphones
• Wireless Mic works well. Does not get in the way.
• Driver allows deep customization of audio to serve your needs.
Cons
• No way to determine battery power.
• Volume buttons feel a little flimsy.
• Microphone can adjust but not very well.
• In order to download drivers, you must register the product.
• Reasonable but not impressive range.
• Not compatible with consoles (at least the PS3)

The good news is that might not entirely be true as Microsoft said on Twitter that it's entirely up to hardware manufacturers. Way to confuse us! Another area where WinMo 6.5 gets no love? Adobe Flash 10.1.

How-To: Improve iPhone lock screen security with an alphanumeric password

1234. 1111. 0000. When it comes to 4-digit unlock codes, most people fall back on the same patterns/ideas that everyone else uses. "Boy! I sure hope the big bad hacker folks don't think to punch in my Birthday!"
Alpha-numeric passwords (that is, passwords with both letters and numbers) are inherently more secure. More possibilities means more security, right? Alas, the iPhone only supports 4-digit codes -- out of the box, at least. A few clever gents have figured out an incredibly simple modification that gives you access to the full keyboard for your lockdown duties, no jailbreak required.

Hands On With Palm’s Mobile HotSpot For Pre Plus and Pixi Plus

By the time Palm announced the Pixi Plus and Pre Plus at CES earlier this month, there wasn't a whole lot left to reveal. From the names, to the specs, all the way down to the carrier the handsets would launch on -- just about everything had made it into the realm of public knowledge by way of the rumor mill.
However, there was at least one feature that Palm managed to keep hidden up their sleeve: Mobile HotSpot. With the flick of a switch, the Mobile Hotspot application turns the Pre Plus or Pixi Plus into a WiFi router for up to 5 users simultaneously, fueled by Verizon's 3G network. We've spent the last few hours tinkering with a pre-release copy of Mobile HotSpot - read on for our impressions.

BlackBerry Curve 8530 impressions
Posted on December 21, 2009 | No CommentsWe don't know, but it seems like RIM has enlisted a couple more CDMA engineers because the gap between new devices launching on GSM and then making their way to CDMA has been getting noticeably smaller over time. The BlackBerry Curve 8520 was launched on T-Mobile only a few short months ago, and it's already made its way to both Verizon and Sprint. It's not the same powerhouse as its older sibling the Tour, but this device packs a heck of a lot of punch into a very pocketable package. Read past the break for our extended impressions.

Posted on October 19, 2009 | No CommentsLooks like EA finally understands what we've been talking about for a while now: that, in just a few year's time, we'll look back at disc-based media (here, video games) and be all, “Man, how quaint.” Peter Moore, who's the president of EA Sports (no minor position, that), called the disc-based distribution model a “burning platform,” and that companies are either staring in the face of “probable” death or “certain” death, depending on how they want to go about things.

The HP DreamScreen: Not So Dreamy

Last week I saw some coverage of this new HP device called the DreamScreen. And more than a couple of blogs were comparing it to the elusive Apple Tablet. Given my extreme interest in this space, I thought I should get this new DreamScreen in my hands as soon as possible and see if HP had indeed beaten Apple (and us) to the punch in delivering the first high quality tablet computing experience to consumers.
The press: "Want a hint at how the much-anticipated Apple Tablet might be shaping up? Take a look at the HP DreamScreen," said one of those blogs, adding "this certainly looks like what we’re expecting from the Apple Tablet." Another site: "Hewlett Packard has beaten Apple to the punch in coming up with a beautiful tablet-like computer." Engadget called it "something special."
The reality: I can't repeat here what I wrote on Twitter because of the sensitive nature of the TechCrunch audience, but I will say this. The HP DreamScreen is possibly the biggest piece of crap to ever grace my desk. Which is saying something.
