Posted on April 4, 2010 | No CommentsWe've given you the first plot details and pictures on Friday, but now the first trailer for Resident Evil: Afterlife (aka Resident Evil 4) is online. It's pretty cool (well, it shows more of the same), mentioning the movie was filmed with the "James Cameron / Vincent Pace Fusion Camera System", the "World's Most Advanced 3D Technology".

Nintendo 3DS: Look who just innovated itself out of a paper bag!
Posted on March 23, 2010 | No CommentsThe beauty of the Internet is that it demands instant analysis of every single development to come out of Peoria. The Nintendo 3DS—out of Kyoto, which is not Peoria, I'm afraid—was announced overnight, time zone permitting. It will debut at E3 in June, and it will forever change the way you and I... do something. Something video game-related, methinks.

You know you want to play Resident Evil in 3D
Posted on March 17, 2010 | No CommentsSurely you've heard of Shinji Mikami, right? He's basically "the Resident Evil guy," and he's got 3D on the brain. He told Famitsu, that famous Japanese video game magazine, that he wants to disband his current studio (Straight Story) and form a new one, one for creators, by creators (as opposed to one by run by know-nothing businessmen). This new studio, in a perfect world, would create a 3D horror game.

Monopoly: Resident Evil Edition
Posted on February 11, 2010 | No Comments
Finally an answer to the ages-old question: How much crossover is there between Resident Evil fans and Monopoly fans? Apparently enough for one enterprising individual named Nick “Neptune” Endean to dream up Monopoly: Resident Evil Edition.

Can we blame Nintendo’s profit drop on the lack of gamer’s games?
Posted on October 29, 2009 | No CommentsIt hasn't been the best couple of months for Nintendo. Profits were down for the six months leading up to September, which the company blames on the strong yen and the Wii's price cut. Net sales, too, were down, some 34.5 percent. Fair enough, and those reasons are likely to explain Nintendo's situation, but is there something else going on? I know Pat Buchanan, the older gentlemen that he is, always uses the phrase “the chickens have come home to roost,” and I think it's applicable here. Perhaps Nintendo's strategy of selling the Wii to the “casual” crowd (housewives and the like, to simplify this) has finally run out of gas?

Posted on September 25, 2009 | No CommentsSony laid out its motion controller plans the other day at the Tokyo Game Show and mentioned that Resident Evil 5 and LittleBigPlanet would be the first games to take advantage of the system. Posted on September 25, 2009 | No Comments
Resident Evil (Biohazard in Japan) - The Darkside Chronicles is an on-rails shooter that comes out in Nippon for the Wii on January 14. Instead of torturing you with the crappy video I took at the Capcom booth at the Tokyo Game Show, I give you the official trailer the fine people over at the Famitsu secured. It contains cut scenes, gameplay sequences and a few spoilers - you've been warned.

Tokyo Game Show: A look at the Square Enix, Xbox360 and Capcom booths
Posted on September 25, 2009 | No Comments
I posted some pictures of Sony's and Ubisoft's booth at this year's Tokyo Game Show yesterday, but booth-wise, Square Enix, Microsoft (Xbox 360) and Capcom made quite a strong showing, too. Here's some proof.

Tokyo Game Show: How Resident Evil 5 looks on an Alienware PC (video)
Posted on September 24, 2009 | No Comments
Alienware announced yesterday they will “shake the gaming world to its foundation” at the Tokyo Game Show 2009. Well, the show started today, I went there and played Resident Evil 5 (and a bunch of other titles, for example Streetfighter 4) on Alienware hardware. I'm not sure if the gaming world is really that different when compared to yesterday, but all the games did look damn impressive on the Alienware notebooks and desktop computers.

Tokyo Game Show: First impressions and a look at Sony’s and Ubisoft’s booth
Posted on September 24, 2009 | No Comments
I just came back from this year's Tokyo Game Show and must say I am pretty disappointed with the show this year. There were hardly any highlights, Sony didn't show their motion controller anywhere after the announcement during their keynote (picture of the device below/more info later) and staff members often didn't let me shoot any pictures or videos (which I did anyway if there was the chance).
Here are some pictures from two booths of the show. The picture on the left shows the final event of the first day (Sunday is the final day). More material from the Tokyo Game Show follows today and tomorrow.
