There will be a collector’s edition of StarCraft II
Posted on April 8, 2010 | No CommentsBlizzard just announced, via fancy e-mail, that there will, indeed, be a collector's edition of StarCraft II, whenever it comes out. (No, Blizzard has not announced a release date yet, but says it will "soon.") Anyhow, the collector's edition will come with a 176-page art book, a USB thumb drive loaded with the original StarCraft and its expansion pack Brood War, a behind-the-scenes DVD, a CD soundtrack, a comic book, and a World of Warcraft in-game pet, plus other bonus downloadable content (aesthetic stuff, not like mega-powerful guns or anything). Total cost: $99.

EA removes SecuROM DRM from Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Posted on March 16, 2010 | No CommentsSince we're your go-to source for complaining about DRM, I figure we should mention the latest development regarding EA's Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Dice, the game's developer's, have removed SecuROM DRM from both the retail version of the game as well as the digitally distributed one (i.e. Steam). Why a Steam game even needs SecuROM in the first place (it's merely a disc check, so...) is a question I cannot answer. It's probably like a contractual thing or something.

Quick hands on with the Vizit cellular connected touchscreen photo frame
Posted on March 9, 2010 | No CommentsThe Vizit photo frame is an interesting twist on conventional photo frames. Forget about setting it up over Wi-Fi or USB—this thing connects to AT&T’s network and pulls in photos sent via e-mail, MMS, browser upload, Photobucket, and Flickr. I had a chance to play around with a beta version of the frame, so this isn’t [...] -
Video: HTC Legend gets an early unboxing
Posted on March 5, 2010 | No CommentsCan’t get enough of the ultra gorgeous, uni-body HTC Legend? Neither can we. That’s why we’re glad (and a bit jealous) that our buddy Chris Davies over at SlashGear got his mitts all over a near-retail version of the device, and proceeded to give it a proper unboxing. We say “near-retail” version because there seems to [...] -
Video hands-on with the Dell 5130cdn, the world’s fastest color laser printer
Posted on November 10, 2009 | No CommentsYup, that gigantic Dell box contained a huge color laser printer. But to my pleasant surprise, the 100 lbs 5130cdn isn’t nearly as boring and mundane as I thought it was going to be. I really don’t know if it’s the fastest printer in the world like Dell claims, but I do know that this printer [...] -
MacBook Air-style netbook available in Singapore next week
Posted on July 31, 2009 | No Comments
Take the MacBook Air, shrink the screen down an inch, slap in some netbook components, and load it up with Windows 7 Release Candidate and -- drumroll, please -- you've got the iiView A2 out of Singapore. Oh, and lower the price to $468. That's kind of important there.
