AT&T blacks out employee vacation dates in June, presumably for the iPhone launch

Another year, another iPhone. Everything's falling right into place. The rumor mill is churning at full forcing, and Apple has purportedly locked down their regular theater in San Francisco on June 22nd. Now, like they do each time an iPhone rolls around, AT&T is telling their employees not to make vacation plans in the month of June.

  • Fourth Gen iPhone Almost Certainly to be Announced June 22

Fourth Gen iPhone Almost Certainly to be Announced June 22

"Hey. You. Come over here." A scraggly female voice rang out from the bushes. I looked over at the gypsy, half hidden by the shrubbery. "Why?" I asked. The last time I did what a gypsy said I almost lost a kidney, so this time I wanted to be careful. "I have something to tell you. Something the world will want to hear." Intrigued, I moved toward her. She raised her ancient arm, revealing her globular cliché (a crystal ball). I found the slight glow enticing. I peered deep. And all was revealed. Through the fog I could see a man in a black turtle neck. A calendar on the wall behind him clearly read June 22 2010. He was holding what looked to be an updated iPhone.

Microsoft’s Project Pink Phones Now Official, Known As “Kin 1″ And “Kin 2″

We're live in San Francisco, where Microsoft has at long last unveiled the project previously known around the Internets as "Pink", which they've now given the name "Kin". So what is Kin? Much like the rumor mill had projected, it's two different social-network oriented phones: Kin 1, and Kin 2 (How very Seuss of them). Kin 1 is the phone previously known as "Turtle", a little palm (as in the body part, not the company) sized portrait QWERTY slider with a 5 megapixel camera. Kin 2 was previously known amongst the whisperers as "Pure", and is a landscape QWERTY slider with an 8 megapixel camera. Both phones are launching on Verizon.

  • Review: Xetum Tyndall automatic watch

    Review: Xetum Tyndall automatic watch

If you've been following the HourTime podcasts you'll know that I have a hatred fro three-handed watches. For some reason I've grown weary of divers and dress watches without complications. Luckily, the Tyndall is here to bring me back from the brink of insanity. Designed by Jeff Kuo of San Francisco, the Xetum Tyndall is the epitome of American high-style design watches. It's not fancy, it's not overly beefy, and it's made to last. If you're tired of divers that look like pie plates and monster watches that look like manhole covers yet contain a cheap Chinese movement, this is the watch for you.

Peter Molyneux will piss you off with Fable III info next week

Is Peter Molyneux the video game industry's Dana White, talking trash at every turn for seemingly no reason? I'd say so, yes. He's going to show off more of Fable III at next week's X10 event in San Francisco. He told Gamereactor that you'll be "pissed off" by what he reveals. Peter Molyneux: promoter extraordinaire.

    Xetum: Sexy Swiss monster watches

Jeff Kuo designed these striking Xetum watches and I’m kind of in love. THey have all the austerity without the price and start at $995 for the black dial Stinson. I’m not usually a fan of three handers but this is an exception. The face is clean and the watch is nice and thick. The watch [...]

Breaking: Flurry Notices Cupertino-based Users Testing Apps on Apple Tablet

Flurry, a mobile app analytics company, has noticed approximately 50 devices in the Cupertino that match the characteristics of Apple's tablet device. Flurry claims to have reliably placed these devices on Apple's Cupertino campus, and are confident that they are "observing a group of pre-release tablets in testing." This make sense - as the Apple Tablet has to be tested before it is announced this Wednesday, January 27 in San Francisco. Furthermore, Flurry has been an extremely reliable source on analytics data thus far and don't often break stories unless they are sure they've checked their facts. They've noticed that a large number of the apps downloaded were Games (140 total downloads or launches) and the next group was Entertainment, followed by News and Books. Here's a chart of the usage data:

  • The courts say don’t blame Apple if your iPod caused you to go deaf

The courts say don’t blame Apple if your iPod caused you to go deaf

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco upheld a 2008 ruling that stated the iPod does not pose an unreasonable risk for hearing loss even though everyone knows the old stock iPod earbuds were the worst earbuds ever made. (I added that last part) The original case augured that because the iPod earbuds were designed to sit so far back in the ear, and the iPod itself does not have any volume meters or noise-isolating properties, that the device could be made safer. But the courts just told the plaintiffs to shut-up and sit down.

Nexus One, The Google Phone, Captured In The Wild (Pictures)

Apparently, Googlers aren't supposed to be tweeting the details of the Google Phone, but they have no problem tweeting about how awesome it is. And they also apparently have no problem showing it off. And not surprisingly, pictures of the device are starting to hit the web. Without further ado, this is it. Cory O'Brien, a San Francisco-based blogger, got his hands on one tonight and tweeted out that picture. He also notes that, "Google Phone = iPhone + a little extra screen and a scroll wheel. Great touch screen, and Android."
