    No pictures for this yet, but after conquering nursing homes, schools and hospitals, Japan's robots are finally ready to get into office spaces, too. Fujitsu's new and yet to be named gofer robot is an all-round talent, designed to be used mainly during office hours. It can move among the staff and actually gets work done as well.

    Update: Sprint comes clean with the HTC Hero launch info

    That was quick. Forget about the rumor, the redesigned HTC Hero will launch on October 11 at $180 after a $50 mail-in rebate. And yes, that's $20 under Sprint's guided missile, the Palm Pre. So let's recap, Sprint will soon be the only carrier with three of the hottest cellphones: the BlackBerry Tour, the Palm Pre, and the HTC Hero. And the carrier has some of the most reasonably priced plans. Nice.

    Walid Abu-Hadba, Microsoft's Vice President of Developer and Platform Evangelism, has gone on record to say that "[m]ost of what Google does is defensive." He has an interesting point: all of the non-search stuff that Google invests in keep its would-be competitors on their toes, and prevent those would-be competitors from encroaching upon the cash cow of Google's operation: search.

    Palm Pre to come with Twitter Search and iTunes Sync

    The Palm Pre will be Twitter friendly. In a demo of the Palm Pre at the D7 conference a few minutes ago, Twitter search was showcased as one of its universal search options (along with Google and other search engines). Other features shown in the demo included the ability to sync the Pre to iTunes, download music over the air from the Amazon MP3 store, run multiple apps at the same time, and integrate third-party apps with other apps on the device such as the calendar. For instance, if you buy a movie ticket through a Fandango app, it can make an entry on your calendar.
