Live-action “Akira” is coming, and the Hughes brothers will direct it
Posted on June 23, 2010 | No CommentsOne of the best manga ever created, Akira, is going to the big screen. And this time, it won't be an anime (like the one from 1988) but a live-action film. We first reported about plans to shoot the live-action remake, whose rights were bought by Leonardo DiCaprio's production company, Appian Way, back in February 2008. The idea was scrapped a few months later, until New York Magazine wrote in February this year the studio is in negotiations with the Hughes Brothers (who directed "The Book Of Eli") to direct the movie.

Video: Hands-on with the Motorola Droid 2
Posted on June 21, 2010 | No Comments
You love Motorola, don't you? You've been rockin' each of their models before even the RAZR was cool. So you've no doubt been excited by the upcoming sequel to the brought-moto-back-from-fiery-doom Droid: the Droid 2.
Yes, the Droid 2, not X. I know it's getting a litle confusing remembering which Droid is which, but let me remind you: the Droid 2 has a physical QWERTY, the X doesn't.
But anyway, Android and Me have posted the world's first* hands-on video with the device, as well as run the device through a few benchmarks.
And what did they find?
Follow the read link to find out.

The PSP 2 will be ‘[expletive] powerful’
Posted on May 17, 2010 | No CommentsThere will be a PSP 2. No, not some sort of halfway sequel, à la the PSP Go, but an actual, holy smokes PSP 2. That's the rumor, and you'd have to assume that's the case. But the specifics of the rumor, today's incarnation of the rumor, that is, is that the device will be "[expletive] powerful." That's pretty powerful!

LG Ally Mini Site Launches to Promote Phone/Film
Posted on May 4, 2010 | No Comments
Can't get enough of the molten-iron-hot LG Ally? You better hope so, because I'm about to tell you that the Iron-Man-2-endorsed Android phone now has it's very own mini site, where you can go and look at stuff.
You know, stuff about the phone. And the Iron Man sequel.

D-Pad Hero 2 coming May 16th
Posted on May 3, 2010 | No CommentsRemember those halcyon days of February 2009? D-Pad Hero had just come out, and rhythm game players all over the world were enjoying the flush of old school meets new school in a 256k ROM. Get ready to experience that joy once again, since the sequel (don’t these games always have a sequel) is coming [...] -
Infinity Ward employees sue Activision for up to $500 million over withheld bonuses
Posted on April 28, 2010 | No CommentsWhy haven't we applied the "gate" suffix to this Infinity Ward-Activision story yet? "Infinity Gate" has a certain ring to it, sorta sounds the name of a private military company. Anyway, how would you feel if you worked for a company and you made a product. It was a successfully product, like, you made the company $1 billion in just a few months. As per your contract, you're due a certain amount of money (royalties) for your troubles. The thing is, the company says, "Hey, you know that money we owe you? We won't give it to you until you finish another product. If you leave us you forfeit all claims to that money we owe you." Not cool, no, but that's what the Infinity Ward Employee Group now claims.

Surprise: Iron Man 2 nowhere near as good as the first one
Posted on April 28, 2010 | No CommentsThat's funny. When I last wrote about Iron Man 2, I had guessed that Scarlett Johansson would be the only reason to see the movie, and it looks like I was right! The first review of the movie has been published, and it includes this: "Meanwhile, [Johansson] struts through the film in various stages of dress and undress, which might be the best thing about Iron Man 2 for its younger male fans." Other than that? The movie is hot garbage. Go figure.

‘Yeah, but does it run Crysis 2?’
Posted on April 9, 2010 | No CommentsThe World's video game press gathered in New York on Tuesday for the world premiere of Crysis 2, the sequel to the game whose memory lives in on the question, "Yeah, but does it run Crysis?" It's no coincidence that Crtyek, the game's developers, and EA, the game's publisher, chose New York to show off the game, with Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli calling the city "symbolic of the pride of mankind." Clearly he hasn't been to the more rubbish sections of Queens. Yes, you're in an altogether different type of jungle this go-round.

A TRON trailer for 2010
Posted on March 30, 2010 | No CommentsTron Legacy comes out right before Christmas this year, but it’s probably best if you see the first movie before the sequel. This trailer should get you in the mood. It did it for me. Oh, and FYI, Tron is supposed to be released on Blu-ray in November, but there quality high-def digital copies lurking around torrent sites [...] -
You know what’s fun? Napoleon: Total War
Posted on March 11, 2010 | No CommentsAn idea of how much I enjoyed playing The Creative Assembly's, by way of Sega, Napoleon: Total War pretty much all weekend long: I just ordered all four parts of Max Gallo's biography of Napoleon from Amazon France. I don't even speak French! (Well, a very little bit, but certainly not enough to read a four-volume biography written by someone who's a member of L'Academie française.) That's a pretty big endorsement: the game re-kindled my interest in Napoleon so much that I bought books that I can't even read. Wild.

Garmin-Asus’ nuvifone M10 is their second offering for the Windows Mobile crowd
Posted on February 11, 2010 | No Comments
While we can't be sure how well Garmin-Asus' first Windows Mobile phone, the nuvifone M20, did in stores, it apparently did well enough to warrant a sequel. In addition to this morning's announcement of the Android-powered nuvifone A50, Garmin has just announced that they're also cracking away at a second WinMo phone.
Going against the grain, Garmin has decided to take a step backwards on the model number; though this one has improved specs across the board, the follow-up to the nuvifone M20 has been labeled the nuvifone M10. Confusing, right?

Activision alludes to DJ Hero 2: Go ahead and pretend to be surprised
Posted on January 15, 2010 | No CommentsThere will be a DJ Hero 2. Yes, I realize that saying that—Activision will make a sequel to one of its games—is akin to saying earthquakes are bad, or that candy is delicious, but there you have it. The sequel was confirmed as part of a contest.

Next Star Trek date announced, with no director
Posted on January 11, 2010 | No CommentsTime to save the date! Word is out that the sequel to the JJ Abrams Star Trek movie will be out on July 29th, 2012. Rumor: LG Cookie to be followed up by the LG Muffin?
Posted on December 21, 2009 | No CommentsMan, that was a surreal headline to write. Two baked goods in one sentence, and we’re not even talking about Android. With over 10 million units pushed, the Cookie is LG’s best selling device ever. It should come as no surprise, then, that it’s getting a sequel. According to information leaked to PhoneArena, the second coming [...]
