Gateway EC series ultraportables are basically Acer Timelines that say ‘Gateway’

Let's say you’re intrigued by Acer's new Windows 7 Timeline ultraportables due to ship out this Thursday but you like saying “Gateway” more than you like saying “Acer” for some reason. You'll be happy to know that Gateway (which is owned by Acer, by the way) has just announced two ultraportable computers that are spitting images of two of the recently-announced Timeline machines: an 11.6-inch model and a 15.6-inch model.

Sony outs the wireless, but overpriced, XBR10 BRAVIA LCD

We knew that when Sony announced the beautiful ZX5 in Europe a US model shouldn't be that far behind. And sure enough, Sony just announced the XBR10 which is pretty much a cloned version. It too rocks a wireless 1080p media receiver, edge-mounted LED backlighting, and 240Hz technology. We just wish that they weren't so damn expensive or at the very least made with localized dimming instead of edge-mounted LEDs.
