The PowerShot SX210 IS leads the charge with a 14.1 MP sensor, 14x optical zoom, and a 720p video capture mode. DIY: Motorcycle cowling increase mileage, decrease sex appeal, exponentially
Posted on January 28, 2010 | No Comments
This particular DIY project makes sense. It's been proven that in order to increase the MPG on your motorcycle (or scooter in this case), all you need to do it add a cowling. Cyclists use this concept in increase speed, the solar powered cars use this, it makes sense. That still doesn't mean that you should do it, at least, not in this color.

You have to appreciate the simple design of the Wrap Wrap
Posted on October 29, 2009 | No CommentsThis is just too cool not to post. Look at that little thing. It’s genius. It’s just a bit of walnut or oak, carved into a shape that will keep your ear buds under control. I’m amazed at the shear beauty and simplicity of the little thing. I don’t even know what to call it. Calling it [...] -
Sony Flexible OLED display on display at CEATEC
Posted on October 7, 2009 | No CommentsSony, and just about everyone else, has been fooling around with OLEDs for quite some time, and they're starting to come up with some pretty clever applications of the technology. Flexible OLEDs have been in the news this year, and Sony's getting into that game, too. In this short video we see a 0.2mm thin OLED display being gently bent back and forth, while actively showing content on its surface.

A week with the Viliv S7
Posted on September 21, 2009 | No Comments
So I have been using the Viliv S7 regularly for about a week now and I have concluded that it is the best netbook I have ever used. But yes, it's a netbook. The S7 might have a touchscreen, convertible design, super long battery life, and a modest size SSD, but at the end of the day, it's a luxury netbook.

Review: Logitech Harmony 700 universal remote
Posted on September 15, 2009 | No CommentsThe Harmony 700 just works. It doesn’t look as fancy as the 900, but I don’t care. What I care about in a remote is the most functionality for the lowest price. And let me tell you that this remote scores high in that area. I don’t care if I spoil the review, I just have [...] -
Intel’s new Nehalem-EX CPUs rock servers with eight cores, 16 threads, infinite sex appeal
Posted on May 27, 2009 | No CommentsWhat's that, you have an array of six-core CPUs in your rack? That is so last year. You're going to feel pretty foolish when all the cool admins start popping eight-core chips up in their closets this fall. That's the number on offer in Intel's latest, the Nehalem-EX. It's an evolution of the architecture that some of you may be spinning in your Core i7 machines, but boosted to support up to 16 threads and 24MB of cache. 2.3 billion transistors make the magic happen here, and Intel is pledging a nine-times improvement in memory bandwidth over the Xeon 7400. Chips are set to start hitting sockets sometime later this year, and while nobody's talking prices, staying hip in the enterprise server CPU crowd doesn't come cheap.Filed under: Desktops

Come on, who's had a tech boner over the red and white Panasonic Lumix GF1? Be honest. Maybe their attraction all this time over the standard black model was that they were always hard to come by here in the States, available only from shady ebay sellers. But no worries, Amazon finally has them available for purchase -- through a shady 3rd party reseller.
