Droid Eris doc leaks, shows WiFi and 5 megapixel Camera
Posted on October 29, 2009 | No Comments
The first phone in what will eventually become a line of Droid phones only became a reality yesterday morning, and its sibling is already in tow.
We already know a bit about the HTC-made Droid Eris, such as its $99 price tag and that it's likely to be spec'd almost identically to the Hero. We're suckers for the minute details though, and PhoneArena just uncovered a doc which confirms a couple new ones.

Nokia N97 firmware 2.0 hits the tubes, is ready for your attention
Posted on October 27, 2009 | No CommentsFiled under: Handsets, Software, Nokia, Symbian
Got an N97? Yeah? Reckoned that Nokia has forgotten about your loyalty and moved all of its focus onto the N900? Fret not, dearest early adopter -- the engineers in Espoo are making good on a promise to clear out lots of bugs in the aforesaid handset with firmware 2.0, and if we're seeing this right, it's available now to download all over the world. We know, you 5800 owners are clamoring for the same type of TLC, but for now it looks like the pricier sibling is getting its due. Hit the read link and get your download going, and make sure to report back on your kinetic scrolling experience, cool?

Verizon’s BlackBerry Curve 8530 gets reviewed early
Posted on October 26, 2009 | No CommentsFiled under: Handsets, RIM, Verizon Wireless, EV-DO, CDMA, BlackBerry OS
The phone you're peering at above has more names than we'd care to count, but the so-called Aries (or the Gemini's CDMA'd sibling, if you please) may end up on Verizon as one of two things: the BlackBerry Curve 8530 or the BlackBerry Curve 2. The folks over at CrackBerry managed to get their hands on a unit far before this thing has even been officially released, and of course they've given us the rundown just as the Storm2 is stealing all of the attention over at Big Red. The WiFi-equipped handset (yeah, you read that right) was said to be "identical to the Curve 8520" with the exception of the back cover design, meaning that while solid, the device definitely felt "entry-level." The interface was said to be satisfactorily snappy, the optical trackpad was dubbed "really great" and the web browser was still thoroughly worthless. If you really need to hear more, give that read link a look.Verizon's BlackBerry Curve 8530 gets reviewed early originally appeared on Engadget Mobile on Mon, 26 Oct 2009 16:38:00 EST. Review: WD TV Live HD Media Player
Posted on October 22, 2009 | No Comments
Short Version: Western Digital's newest addition to its growing lineup of media players, the WD TV Live, essentially picks up where its older sibling (the great WD TV) left off. With the newly added networking capabilities via a built-in Ethernet port or USB Wi-Fi adapter (sold separately), the WD TV Live has taken Western Digital's little black box to the next level. Be it photos, music, video (encoded with just about any codec under the sun), or the newly added access to YouTube, Flickr, Pandora, and Live365, the WD TV Live can handle just about any kind of media thrown its way. Overall, it is a highly capable, easy to use, and relatively affordable all-around high definition media player.

Rumor: Nokia working on a keyboard-less N920?
Posted on October 15, 2009 | No CommentsDon’t let today’s news of Nokia’s financial failures troubles fool you. Just because the mobile powerhouse isn’t raking in profits at the moment, doesn’t mean the Finnish giant has stopped working on future devices…at least according to Pocketables. Unlike its soon-to-be-released sibling, the N900, the rumored N920 will supposedly be keyboard-less, but will make up for [...] -
Samsung Galaxy Lite gets caught on video done up in green
Posted on September 8, 2009 | No CommentsJust this past week, we were looking at a somewhat blurry shot of the Galaxy Lite, wondering when we’d see more. Seeing as Samsung is about as good at keeping handsets secret as I am at playing a guitar with my feet, it didn’t take too long. Early this morning, new shots of Samsung’s sightly sibling [...] -
Rumor: Samsung Galaxy Lite gets pictured?
Posted on September 1, 2009 | No Comments
For the past few weeks, rumors have been brewing indicating that Samsung has been crackin' away on a scaled-down sibling to their Android-powered Galaxy. After an appropriately shaped handset with a similar model number (I7500 for Galaxy Standard vs I5700 for the Lite) made its way through the FCC, the rumors started to seem pretty solid.
Adding a bit more credibility to the idea, French Android-fansite Frandroid has managed to unearth what's purported to be a promo shot of Mr. Galaxy Jr.

Nokia N97 Mini promo shot gets leaked
Posted on August 25, 2009 | No CommentsWe haven’t been posting too much about the N97 Mini, mainly because we think the fact that it exists is a bit silly. We feel that there’s plenty of stuff Nokia could be doing that would be better than remaking the same phone 2-3% smaller. It’s tough to write about it without sounding bitter, [...]
