Yup, they’re developing a telepathy chip all right
Posted on September 5, 2009 | No CommentsHow did I miss this?! Apparently the Brits are developing some sort of telepathy chip that will give the user the ability to do crazy X-Men stuff, like turn lights on and off with the power of thought. (It actually just dawned on me that, had CrunchGear been around in the 1800s, we would have been floored at the idea of electric light, and called blasphemers for bringing up telepathy.)

Oh Brando, cashing in on Michael Jackson's untimely death? You're better than that, Brando.
At any rate, the Thriller Skull Phone is an old-timey standard phone in the shape of a skull with blue LEDs for eyes that light up when the phone rings.

Bringing Pleo back
Posted on June 9, 2009 | No Comments
Jetta Company Limited has decided to re-launch the Pleo and will continue to manufacture the clever little dinosaur including its battery and charger accessories.
Jetta bought the Ugobe IP on May 21 and manufactured most of the robot during the wee one's short run. Hundreds of Pleo fans will be able to continue to pet their Pleos while rocking back and forth and mumbling about "Seeing something nasty in the toolshed" over and over and not have to risk rubbing away the rubber on its skull and spine.

Crapgadget: Tacky USB knicknacks edition
Posted on June 1, 2009 | No Comments
When the fine folks of the USB Implementers Forum put together the specs for USB 2.0 some nine odd years ago, they certainly never dreamed that this technology would be the standard connectivity option for the tacky knickknacks of the 21st century. We know you won't be lining your mantelpiece with any of these things (the space being reserved for your Franklin Mint collector plates depicting the cast of Gone With The Wind) but maybe your cube could use some gussying up? We have 2GB thumb drives for you that almost-not-really pass themselves off as cat's ears, a USB hub that comes with "chocolate" balls of dubious provenance, a hub that might look at home next to your skull bong, and lastly, a USB powered fan with a fetching Spider-Man motif. Do any of these sound good to you? We didn't think so. But feel free to hop on past the break for a good laugh.
