You can now watch UFC on your Roku box

UFC President Dana White believes the Internet is the future of television, so this Roku deal makes all kinds of sense. Beginning with next week's pay-per-view, UFC 114, Roku owners will be able to stream live UFC events right to their TV. It's in HD, too. Nothing but the best for you guys!

  • Alistair Overeem will be in EA Sports MMA (then hide out in Japan for 3 years)

Alistair Overeem will be in EA Sports MMA (then hide out in Japan for 3 years)

You wouldn't know it, but Strikeforce, TNA to UFC's WWE, has a big show this weekend, and it marks the first time that Alistair Overeem has fought in the U.S. for some three years. This is relevant to us here because EA has revealed that Overeem will, indeed, be in its upcoming EA Sports MMA. That's him on the right. I thought that would have been a given, given that he's the current Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion, but here we are, treating this like it's news. (Overoids, amirite?!)

Call of Duty: Black Ops accidentally (?) announced: The most intense shooter since that other one

The next Call of Duty game will not be about saving Infinity Ward employees from Activision. I'm a little disappointed.

Hulk Hogan gets his own show on Sirius XM, brother

Whatcha gonna do, brother, when you sign a one-year contract with TNA Wrestling, but still want to keep your name in the news? You get a radio show on Sirius XM, of course, dude. That's right: starting this Monday, you, me, and anyone else with Sirius XM will be able to hear Hulk Hogan—wait, wait, Terry (I forgot, I'm shooting just like they do in TNA)—at 7pm ET on Howard 101. It's called "Hulk Hogan: Uncensored," and I'm looking forward to hearing him explain how he wrestled more than 400 nights per year back in the 1980s. Yes, he actually claimed that in his latest book. Ridiculous.

    Video: NBA JAM teaser

Remember NBA JAM? Remember that there’s a new version (“new” like how Hollywood just re-makes old movies now) coming out for the Wii? EA Sports has released the above teaser video—and it’s truly a teaser; don’t blink or you’ll miss it. There’s apparently supposed to be a much more involved launch on Spike TV tonight. Hopefully [...]

  • DVRs, more mature Internet will prevent TNA from re-igniting the Monday Night Wars against WWE

DVRs, more mature Internet will prevent TNA from re-igniting the Monday Night Wars against WWE

The best numbers I could find suggest that 30 percent of homes in the U.S. have access to a DVR. That doesn't seem like a lot, no, but it's already had an undeniable impact on the way TV studios evaluate their shows. Lost, The Office, and The Ultimate Fighter all saw their final ratings boosted after taking into account delayed DVR viewings. That means that just because a show doesn't have killer overnight ratings doesn't mean plenty of people aren't watching—they're just watching a little while later.

  • Halo: Reach Trailer to Come in Two Days

Halo: Reach Trailer to Come in Two Days

I can't believe I'm actually going to say this. This Saturday at 8 PM, I know without a doubt I will be sitting on my couch, watching Spike TV. There are only two things which could cause me to do this. One would be if the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show was moved from CBS to Spike. The other, which will actually be happening, is to watch the Video Game Awards, where the global unveiling of Halo: Reach is going down. Given what Bungie has done thus far with the Halo series, I expect nothing short of greatness from Reach, which is slated to drop in Q4, 2010.

Conspiracy theory: Is EA setting up EA Sports MMA to flop in order to secure the UFC license later on?

Here's a conspiracy theory for you (someone call Jesse Ventura): is EA Sports MMA intentionally going to stink in order for EA Sports to lose the Strikeforce license and later acquire the UFC license? Let's see.

  • Medal of Honor reboot marks the end of an era

Medal of Honor reboot marks the end of an era

Look at that beard. That beard screams freedom. It also screams “we're in Afghanistan with zero idea of how to win or how to get out.” The beard is the star of Medal of Honor, EA's rebooting (please consider “rebooting” to be a noun here) of a franchise that fell off the cliff, oh, after Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. It's due next year for the usual platforms; more info will be revealed at the Spike TV Video Game Awards, which I wouldn't watch if my life were on the line. The game, to be set in Afghanistan, is said to be inspired by “real events,” i.e., the sales of Modern Warfare.
