This young man willingly gets an Apple tattoo. And you call us fanboys?
Posted on May 18, 2010 | No Comments
Look, I love my iPad as much as the next guy and, just like the next guy, if I had to make the choice between food and water and the iWork suite, I'd probably go for the iWork suite. However, I would not tattoo the Apple logo onto my shoulder.
Billy Hime, a self-professed "iPhone Owner," "shameless flirt," and "Youtube Video Blogger" filmed himself getting his tattoo with his mom. He also wrote on Twitter that "Lotion=burning my Apple," a comment on what we can only assume to be the effects of the antiseptic on his tattoo and not a euphemism for something else.

HTC Tattoo to get the bumpgrade to Android 2.1?
Posted on March 12, 2010 | No Comments
The Tattoo might have been designed to be dirt cheap, but that doesn't mean HTC doesn't love it as much as the rest of their phones.
French Android site Frandroid shot a note to HTC to see whether or not the Tattoo would be getting the Android 2.1 treatment. Their response? Drumroll, please.

Casttoo: A tattoo for your cast
Posted on March 10, 2010 | No Comments
Know what’s weird about being an adult? Or adult age, for that matter? You really don’t see too many casts any more. In grade school, it was like “Oh, hey, fifteen kids have broken arms and legs.” Now, it’s like, “I hope a broken arm will be enough to get you to admit you have a drinking problem.”

Motorola prepping ‘La Jolla’ low-end Android clamshell?
Posted on December 4, 2009 | No CommentsIt's a source code-palooza these days! Fresh off that huge HTC code name find, someone's dug into the Motorola CLIQ's source code and found references to a new Motorola device dubbed "La Jolla." Meaning "The Jewel" in Spanish, La Jolla apparently means "low-end Android clamshell" in Motorola-ese, with mention of a WQVGA screen, 528MHz processor and what seems to be a QWERTY keyboard. (What such a phone might look like is pictured above. Thanks, LG). In fact, a QWERTY Android clamshell (the clamshell bit was extrapolated from the display driver by the folks at AndroidandMe, but sounds reasonable) seems to be the perfect cure for the recent rash of QWERTY featurephones we've been seeing lately, perfect for the SMS / email junky that doesn't want to bother with high-powered apps or a big price tag or the resistive touchscreen-only typing of the HTC Tattoo. Now, if only could find some device source code that could solve our trigger shyness brought on by this steady stream of Android handsets -- not that we're complaining.Motorola prepping 'La Jolla' low-end Android clamshell? originally appeared on Engadget on Fri, 04 Dec 2009 15:28:00 EST. HTC Touch2 coming to Rogers, maybe in fancy colors?
Posted on November 9, 2009 | No CommentsFiled under: Handsets, HTC, Windows Mobile, GSM, EDGE, HSDPA, UMTS
The HD2 has largely blinded us to any other Windows Mobile-based HTC in the lineup right now, but be that as it may, there are other products in the mix, believe it or not -- and Rogers apparently has its eye on one of 'em. Rumor has it that the Canadian carrier is looking at scooping up the low-end Touch2, possibly in a couple wild colors like red and blue -- and considering what we see here in these spy shots, we'll go out on a limb and say that those color choices would be a Good Thing. The phone itself lacks the kind of excitement and buzz that a middling Android-powered phone like the Tattoo is still capable of garnering, so eye-popping cases might be just what the doctor ordered to keep this one in the mix at the cash register. There's no word on pricing or availability for this one just yet... but yeah, Rogers, how about that HD2?HTC Touch2 coming to Rogers, maybe in fancy colors? originally appeared on Engadget Mobile on Mon, 09 Nov 2009 09:39:00 EST. Verizon announces early store openings for DROID launch
Posted on November 3, 2009 | No CommentsFiled under: Handsets, Motorola, Verizon Wireless, EV-DO, CDMA, Android
We'd already heard through the grapevine that select Verizon Wireless stores would be cracking their doors open early to deal with the presumed flood ofconsumers"Humans" eager to snap up the first-ever Android 2.0 device, and now the carrier has come right out with the official details. We're told that "many" of its over 2,000 retail locations will open at either 7AM or 8AM local time to field orders for the DROID, though VZW mall stores will all open at their regular time. You should check with your local store to see exactly when they'll open, and while we can't guarantee it, we'd guess that having an Android-related tattoo on your person is a good way to get VIP treatment once you arrive on scene. Or, you know, you could just get your Best Buy pre-order in now and save $100 up front by dodging the mail-in rebate.Verizon announces early store openings for DROID launch originally appeared on Engadget Mobile on Tue, 03 Nov 2009 13:05:00 EST. Sony Ericsson Satio, HTC Tattoo, and LG GM750 now on offer at Vodafone
Posted on October 13, 2009 | No CommentsFiled under: Handsets, HTC, LG, Sony Ericsson, Vodafone, Symbian, Windows Mobile, GSM, EDGE, HSDPA, UMTS, HSUPA, Android
Hey, Britons: about a nice three-pack of "wow!" to start your week off right? We'd like to direct your attention over to Vodafone, where three particularly notable handsets that we've been following in recent months are now in stock and ready for delivery. The HTC Tattoo represents the new low end in Android fare, bringing a resistive QVGA display and a 3.2 megapixel cam to the table -- it'll go out the door for free on a £25 monthly plan. Heading over to the Windows Mobile side of the trailer park, the GM750 is a Voda exclusive loaded to the hilt with that newfangled WinMo 6.5 everyone's been talking about these days; it comes loaded up with a 5 megapixel camera and, like the Tattoo, can be yours for nary a penny on a £25 plan. Finally -- get ready -- the Symbian-powered Satio from Sony Ericsson is ready for your consumption, all 12.1 megapixels of it, for just another 10 quid a month. We'll take all three, thanks.

HTC unveils the Tattoo
Posted on September 8, 2009 | No CommentsHTC’s naming conventions are kind of funny. I was almost hoping that after the Hero they’d call this the HTC Ninjastar or the HTC Hobo, but sadly it ended up being the Tattoo. The Tattoo runs the Sense UI, which is great++ and it has a 3.2 megapixel camera, 3.5mm headset jack, and MicroSD memory [...] -
Worst. Idea. Ever.: Tattoo Mania for the iPhone

HTC trademarks five names, get ready for more devices
Posted on July 27, 2009 | No CommentsHTC has a long history of naming its devices after a strong noun. There was previously the Excalibur, Cavalier, Blackstone, Apache, Prophet, and more recently, the Hero. Well, get ready for five more devices that follow the same naming scheme after the jump. We’ve got the Vigor, Dawn, Interlude, Imagio and Tattoo coming sometime soon. There [...] -
Monster ‘BFC’ officially takes energy drinks too far
Posted on July 16, 2009 | No CommentsIn the early days of energy drinks, the tiny 8-ounce Red Bull can was the only game in town. Then somewhere along the line, someone decided to double the can size to 16 ounces. Great — twice the punch for the same price. Then came the 24-ounce energy drink can. A little excessive, sure, but [...]
You’ve been adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing all day long. The sweat gathers in the arm pit region of your short-sleeve button-down work shirt. Your pocket protector feels like it weighs a thousand pounds. Only 15 minutes to go and you can hop in your Subaru, drive home, and take a nice, long shower. If only there was a shower curtain to reflect your status as one of the world’s most elite mathletes.
