HTC Desire in the US pipeline for ’select regional operators’ this August
Posted on June 16, 2010 | No CommentsSince neither T-Mobile nor AT&T have ponied up a branded, high-end Android device yet (though the former is almost certainly about to announce the Galaxy S), we were particularly chuffed to get the news from HTC today that it'll be bringing the lovely Desire to US shores through carriers in August. Thing is, it won't be coming through any of the big guys -- instead, it's destined for "select regional operators," and HTC is quick to note that the Hero has been "well received... in regional markets," so we imagine some of those same little guys will be scooping the Desire. We're told to wait for word from specific carriers on pricing and technical details, but the branded Desires have been confirmed to sport a 1GHz Snapdragon and Sense atop Android 2.1, two of the most important line items -- now let's just make sure we're already cracking on a Froyo update, yeah?HTC Desire in the US pipeline for 'select regional operators' this August originally appeared on Engadget on Wed, 16 Jun 2010 12:39:00 EST. Motorola Shadow glimpsed in the wild: 4.1-inch screen, 8MP camera, OMAP3630 processor?
Posted on May 25, 2010 | No CommentsLeave it to the very same poster who teased the Motorola Shadow's Getting Started manual, wnrussell of Howard Forums, to provide a pretty clear shot of the device itself -- yep, that's a HDMI out port -- and reveal some purported specs. Here's the claimed technical details: 4.1-inch screen, TI OMAP 3630 processor (a 720MHz ARM Cortex A8), 8GB internal storage, 8 megapixel camera. Yeah, we can buy all that, especially since he's clearly got the device in hand -- so now it's up to Verizon to let us know when we can do the same.

The many varied opinions of Final Fantasy XIII: Was Square Enix trying to please too many people simultaneously?
Posted on March 6, 2010 | No CommentsFinal Fantasy XIII comes out on Tuesday, but Square Enix's review embargo must have lifted yesterday, since pretty much ever Web site ever has published their review. Not us, of course. That's fine. I'll just buy the game and play it quietly by myself next week. Be that as it may, let's see what people are saying about it.
