Surprise! HTC Legend pre-orders delivered a bit early
Posted on March 10, 2010 | No CommentsHandset manufacturers are usually pretty good about holding their tongue about specific release dates until the launch date is a sure thing, so it’s not too often that we see delays in the mobile world. What’s even more rare than a delay, however, is something shipping way earlier than expected. And yet, that seems to be [...] -
The Qisda QCM-330 is gorgeous, headed for Vodafone, and quite possibly Android-powered
Posted on February 8, 2010 | No CommentsWhen it comes to bar-shaped smartphones, it takes a good amount of effort to design something visually appealing. There’s really only so much you can do with a flat slab – and whatever can be done likely already has. With that said, there’s just something about this handset, the Qisda QCM-330. I’m not sure what that [...] -
HTC Russia says HD2 will get Windows Mobile 7 upgrade, but other ‘communicators’ won’t
Posted on December 30, 2009 | No CommentsAnd what do we have here? HTC's Russian contingent has been rather forthcoming with its Windows Mobile 7 plans this morning, which will please HD2 owners but disappoint many others. The good news is that HTC's flagship WinMo handset is assured of getting Microsoft's finest when it comes out, but the bad news is that the rest of the line will remain stuck at version 6.5 or below. Here's the tweet in the Queen's own tongue:
Keep in mind it's still possible, though not altogether probable, that this statement refers only to the Russian market. In either case, if you were holding out hope for your Touch Pro 2 or Snap to keep updating all the way to 7, it seems the odds are now officially stacked against you.For Diamond 2 firmware is not planned. Of the existing communicators on the market, only the HD2 firmware to get WM7.HTC Russia says HD2 will get Windows Mobile 7 upgrade, but other 'communicators' won't originally appeared on Engadget on Wed, 30 Dec 2009 10:52:00 EST. Well, it’s kind of a satellite dish looking thing that you attach to a point and shoot. It fits over a DSLR, but not quite as well as you’d expect. You waggle the camera [...] -

USB-powered Alien figure with illuminated tongue
Posted on November 20, 2009 | No CommentsThe Japanese madness for all things USB continues. Today I can give you an Alien figure that you can connect to your computer's USB port. It then sticks out its nasty tongue at random times, backlit by a spooky red LED. Apart from that, the thing isn't good for much else

Crazy but real: Device lets blind people see using their tongue
Posted on September 1, 2009 | No CommentsInvention of the year? Quite possibly! It's the BrainPort, and it, in effect, gives blind people the ability to see by using the nerve endings on their tongue. It sounds weird, yes.
