Posted on June 24, 2010 | No Comments
There's certainly no shortage of so-called mobility robots, but major Japanese robot maker tmsuk's offering seems to be quite cool. Meguru: Japan’s bamboo-powered electric car (videos)
Posted on May 21, 2010 | No CommentsIt looks much like a rickshaw, but the so-called Meguru [JP] is more of an electric car than a human-powered cart. Jointly developed by Osaka-based Yodogawa and Kinki Knives Industries, the Meguru is powered by a lithium-ion battery that, once fully charged, offers a travel distance of 25 miles. The vehicle, which is actually registered as a car, reaches a top speed of 25mph.

Shadow eBike makes spokes and wires a thing of the past
Posted on March 25, 2010 | No CommentsWhile not the first bike to do away with spokes, the Shadow might be the first to see mass production. And its certainly the first to be wireless. Yes, that’s correct. Wireless bicycles. The Shadow’s designers determined that most eBike malfunctions occur at connection points or due to loose wiring. So hey! Why not just get [...] -
Mantys is part motorized scooter, part golf cart, and a pinch of Segway
Posted on February 2, 2010 | No Comments
Oh I like this very much. Very much indeed. The Mantys (or “MANTYS” as the company shouts) is a personal motorized golf cart that’s steered simply by shifting your weight. It weighs just 45 pounds, has a top speed of 12.5 miles per hour, and can go for 36 holes before needing to be recharged. At the end of the day, the Mantys folds down for easy transport.

Shock: The Gran Turismo PSP bundle isn’t half-bad
Posted on September 3, 2009 | No CommentsCredit to Sony for actually putting together a reasonably good PSP bundle. Starting on October 1, for $199, you can buy a bundle that includes the PSP-3000 (not the PSP Go, mind you), a copy of Gran Turismo PSP, a voucher to download a Corvette ZR1 in an exclusive-to-this-bundle color, a 2GB memory stick, a PSN movie downloadable voucher (movie hasn't been announced yet), and a Sony MusicPass that's worth 10 downloadable songs. Not too shabby.
